Does it make some sense to promote organic farming?

More often than not, the policy makers around the world promote organic farming now a days. My point is why there is so much hype on the issue. Does organic farming addresses those issues that forced us to use chemical fertilisers long back in history?

Completely agree with you, but the question is the cost of organic produce is so prohibiting that we often fail to suggest it as a farm policy of nations. In my parts of the world a majority people live with 2$ a day. Is organic farming a solution?
