I've been numerous times. The only one worth noting is when my right eye, on which I had cataract surgery, hurt as if it were being soaked in alcohol. It was so sensitive to light, even when I closed it, light coming in from my left eye caused it to hurt. I went in, and the doctor there said I had conjunctivitis. The drops didn't help. I developed foggy vision, and went in again for the same thing, plus that. It turns out Hilo Hospital doesn't have eye doctors on staff. I went to my regular eye doctor and BEGGED him to listen to me, saying research on the web revealed I was probably suffering from macular degeneration. He got embarrassed and sent me to a macula specialist, who revealed it was macular edema, caused by not being weaned off prednisone and ketorolac eyedrops. He put me back on, and both conditions cleared up.
