What would be your course of action if a pandemic broke out where you live?
H5N1 only has 3 more mutations before it can spread from person to person. Lassa Fever has broken out over seas, MERS-COv is on the spread, and scientist are trying to stop an outbreak of Ebola Virus. With the modern transportation means, like jet travel, many pathogens that were at one time, in another place, could end up in your neighborhood. Would you carry on life like nothing was happening? Would you try to help? Would you lock yourself in your house? Would you try to leave?
I am not a doctor so I am unsure if I could really help in a situation like that. I would be worried that I could potentially do more harm than good, not knowing what I am doing. However it would be difficult not trying to help some child that was burning up with fever when a person could give aid in a pretty low tech way. I would probably more than likely try to stay indoors and seal the windows and doors somehow with plastic or something if it was a really bad pandemic.
If it was all that bad, there would probably be officially-enforced quarantines, as they used to do with other diseases such as yellow fever, diptheria, tuberculosis and the like.
Helping would be restricted to healthcare professionals. As PhoenixV has said, not being a doctor or nurse, there wouldn't be much I could do, and I would simply try to protect myself and my husband from contagion, since his health is already compromised anyway.

I'm about to move out on my own and was just wondering what other singles spend each month on groceries. It seems like what I've worked out so far for my buget has a huge chunk needed for food so I'm curious.

What have you noticed in bloom already where you live?Yesterday, on my way home from the city, in the daylight, I noticed for the first time so much in bloom in one day! The Bradford Pear trees, the Dogwood trees, daffodils, peach orchards and those trees with the dark burgundy leaves were...
