There is a definitive correlation between number of violent crime and people incarcerated for drug related crimes when we consider the legalization of drugs. Look at Amsterdam, consider Switzerland, and then look at the US. Do you think that legalizing heroin using the same model as Amsterdam, allowing the user a dose in am before work and again after work, would deter dealers, violent crime, and overcrowding of prisons?

So, is what you mean that we should legalize it but treat it as a controlled substance, such as prescription narcotics? I think that is reasonable due to the abuse potential for such drugs. And you bring up a great point when you mention oui, etc.
