Most parents attempt to make sure their children avoid all the mistakes they made and all the hurt they endured.
Some strive to do everything opposite of what their parents did and other vow to be more strict. A lot of parents want their children to be their best friends and treat them like peers when they reach their teens. These types break the bank to spoil them.
When it's all said and done it's impossible to ensure one's child will not experience heartache, disappointment, betrayal, or some form of abuse. If one lives long enough they'll have their share misery to complement their good times. That's life!
