Drive, enthusiasm, determination, will - like Gandhi, Mandela or Martin Luther King - energy, desire and confidence to name a few. A goal or purpose is crucial as well as a necessity for change which in turn springs from a dissatisfaction with the old.
The spiritual life is similar really: Faith, aspiration or inner yearning, hope, a Goal or purpose ...
Losers lack drive, assiduousness or diligence. They are covered with apathy, guilt and blame and feel no desire for change. Your 'mindset' here means really 'focus, called one-pointedness or concentration in Spirituality, which they do not have. Nothing - material or spiritual - can be achieved without longing, and this springs only when we are tired or unsatisfied with where we are.
Nice question. Much Peace.
