Women are strongly inculcated in the premise of being the good, nice, acceptable girl. They are also further imbued with the concept that obedience and submission are ideal expressions of femininity. This is not done only through parents but also through religious authorities and teachings. So the good, nice girl is also the religious girl. Many women are indoctrinated in the premise that the good, nice girl is the religious girl.
Many women attend church because of familial tradition. They also attend church because of the positive archetypical idealization of being obedient and submissive to a male authoritative religious figure, whether it is God, Jesus, a minister, or a priest. They see religion as exercising their feminine nature which is to.......SERVE and SUBMIT.
There is also a sexual element here. Many women go to church to sublimate their sexuality. They transfer their sexual feelings from flesh and blood men to a fantasy, unattainable male deity. They may even feel that they are undesirable and unworthy as women. They oftentimes do not have real life social/interactive skills so they go to church as an escape from their feelings of social lack. They feel that men may not/do not find them attractive so they feel some sort of attractiveness, attending church because at least the deacon, or minister may find them attractive.
Others may totally sublimate their sexual instincts or feelings, finding a visceral sexual release only by attending church, transferring such feelings to a male deity, saint, or other religious figure. To such women, worship is an elevation of their sexual instincts and/or feelings. Some women attend church for the admiration and social standing of other females. It is somehow a type of gamesmanship of who is holier and/or more sanctified than thou so to speak.
