If the next stage of human evolution human grow and age at a rate half as today then...?
Biological aging rate, is to do with cell division, the more time a cell can divide, the longer it take for them to reach adulthood and grow old. Modern human cell can divide around 50~60 time. Animals that have less nature predator, age slower with passing gen, because it allow those whose cell can divide more times reproduce more and evolution led male to be more attracted to biologically fit female, thus, more attracted to mature but youthful female turtle because live in habitate with no nature predators live for hundred of years. Image the day 60 years old has biological age of modern 30s
Over time, this isn't unreasonable, since humans already mature around age 18 while chimps do so around age 9.
However, that process takes a LONG time.
Image 20000 years later, a 30 years old mum/high school teacher, still has the biological age of 15 years old, wow, guess like we return to the era where people get married and have kids in their teens again
There are efforts to study the genes of those who lived a long time, so in 40 years, there may be young adults engineered to age much more slowly or have more productive middle and old age.
Na, no point doing genetic engineering, let nature take it course and it would happen, we are already aging slower then previous generation, look at how many people in their 30s~40s that still look like teens today.

Neanderthals bred with Cro Magnons to create hybrids ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/323657.stm ) which is possibly one of the many reasons why they became extincted. That is debatable and needs further research. Does anyone believe that Cro Magnon, Neanderthals, and other earlier human...

Is the world safer today that it was a century ago? There is far too much destruction power available today with nations than a hundred years ago. Are we heading towards a ugly future with so many automatic and brilliant machines to kill people (called "enemies" by civilized people!). If...
