If 17th&18th century Asia decided to stop European expansion, what will our modern world be like?

Asia was still way more powerful then the west during 17th &18th century (some even argue early 19th century) Despite anti European imperialism was wide spread, China's only military action was once force Portuguese to release black slaves and once, back Malaysia against Spain's attack and pushed Dutch out of Taiwan. The Chinese didn't back native Americans against Spain, British or Portuguese invading, China's navy wanted to push Dutch and Spain out of Philippine and Indonesia but can't get Emperor's approval. If then China got more involved in this, what would our modern world be like?
