I do not profess to be a nutritionist here, but the apple is full of pectin and helps me to go to the bathroom. It is also full of nutrients and for me quite tasty and sometimes juicy, depending on its freshness and country of origin. Its fibre is very good for the colon. Coffee is a very powerful stimulant and taken in the right amount, will definitely keep you awake, alert and increase your heart rate; getting your adrenaline to run faster.
In my case, it sometimes make my stomach feel sick and like the apple, can increase motions. Coffee will make you chatter and I have observed this in my friends, as it brings with it, a sense of 'high.' Apple is by far a more complete fruit or food. As with everything else, though, they both have their uses, and you will find coffee in many medicines and useful in a hospital setting. Much Love.
