Do you have any tips for me on how to grow a following?

I'm very excited about my blog, and I want it to grow. I've just never done this before, and I'm learning as I go. I've read several of your hubs, and they are very entertaining to read and follow, but how did you get started and grow so quickly? I've looked at profiles where the people have been on hub pages for over a year and only have a dozen or so followers.

You know I have never thought about trying to gain followers for my hubs because I only write because I find it a fun thing to do. There are affiliates where hubbers can make money from Ad-sense, eBay, Amazon, and Kontera. Google Analytics is also available. I do notwrite to make money and am not "affiliated"

I read what others write and often become their fan. I try to rate the hubs that I read and will sometimes write a personal note on their hub fan profile. I have met a lot of nice folks here and the feedback is one of the things that I really love.

Wishing you all the success in the world as you write hubs.

There are a few things you can do.  If someone adds a comment to your hub, then find their profile and read some of their hubs.  Make sure you comment on them, and try to show that you put some thought about their hub in your comment.  Then go back to their profile and follow them - on the right side margin there is a box with several option and one of them is "follow "so-and-so".  After you click on that it will bring you to a page where there will be a hyper link for you add "fan mail."  Click on this and add greeting, just hello, I'm new - or something quick you like about their profile or maybe have in common with them.

Also, see who else is following them - you can do this from their profile.  Then repeat the above process with some of those who look interesting to you.  Very often, once you follow someone they'll read some of your hubs and follow you.

    Good luck!

The advice by fellow hubber  "nadp" works well.  You surely will add up your followers in no time.  But a word of truth is that not all who follow you will really read your hubs.  Mind you, they will also be very busy writing hubs as well.

The number of followers does not guarantee wide readership.  If you have interesting hubs, traffic will come from Google search; and this is far more important.

    Have fun.
