How does the various features that go into making a accent come together? What is the primordial origin of accents? Where are you from, for example?
You might talk about where in Europe the original settlers of your part of the country came from, their language, dialects, etc. What interaction did this original language have with Native American and black African ways of talking, such that (if there was any interaction of all) that people from your part of the country pronounce words in the very particular way they and you, do.
