If you believe that an abnormal psychologist studies "crazy people" then I suggest you take some basic psychology courses prior to pursuing a future in abnormal psychology. Abnormal psychologists study... wait for it... abnormal behaviors and the psychology behind them! This includes developing the understanding that what is normal and abnormal needs to be scrutinized because what is abnormal behavior in one culture or subculture may be totally normal in another. The individuals abnormal psychologists study and work with vary and many of them would most certainly not be considered "crazy" by the cultures in which they reside. Many of them simply have some problems that require specialized therapy to overcome. They are not "crazy" but in need of psychological assistance and this can range from something as potentially severe as schizophrenia to as simple as obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (which unlike the similarly named disorder, OCD, is very easy to treat so long as the individual can recognize they have a problem). If you are looking to study "crazy people" you are pursuing the wrong field.
