Insect Color Pages - Preying Mantis

Just click on any image that you like and you'll be taken to the original picture which you can print out for free. Have fun and I hope you enjoy the bug and insect trivia and facts that I've included,

Because of its coloring, the preying mantis is able to camouflage itself. Sometimes, these show up on my front porch and I have found them to be quite friendly.

Centipede Coloring Page

Although you may be tempted to pick up a centipede, it's better you don't because they bite. They leggy creatures can live up to five years.

Bug Trivia

Even though crickets have wings, most of them can't fly.

Moths and Butterflies

Both moths and butterflies belong to the order Lepidoptera. However, although moths and butterflies may seem similar, there are many differences between them.

One difference is the shape of each ones antennae. Another difference is that butterflies are usually larger and more colorful than moths. In addition, while butterflies can be seen during the day, most moths come out at night.

Moth Coloring Page

Moths are closely related to butterflies and most moths are nocturnal, which means they come out at night.

Although most moths are rather dreary in color compared to butterflies, there are some who happen to be just as colorful and beautiful.

Sucking Louse

The insect featured here is a parasite and lives on the blood of humans and other mammals. They are also wingless insects. Not something I would like to find around my house, but they're still fun to color.

Picture of a Cricket

Did you know that in some countries, crickets are believed to bring good luck? You may have noticed how "talkative" they can become at night. An interesting fact is that only male crickets chirp.I happen to live in an area with a lot of these and it's so cool to hear them at night.

Ladybug Ladybug Song

Please enjoy some music while you're here. This is a cute song.

Ladybug Coloring Page

Although most ladybugs are red, they also come in other colors such as yellow and pink. They are considered to be a type of beetle. Do you have a favorite ladybug color? Mine is pink, although most of the ones we have around here are red.

If you like ladybugs, why not order some of your own? Think how pretty they would be in the yard or garden. What I love about ladybugs is that they eat aphids, so they're practical as well.

Fly Trivia

Flies are born full size.

Fly Coloring Page

Flies can be found all over the world. Although they may seem harmless enough, they are known to spread germs. One thing I find amazing about them is how big their eyes are. They seem so bulging. What do you think?

Bug Coloring Pages - Ranatra Chinensis Water Stick Insect

As you can see, this bug really does look like a stick. Because of its coloring, it's easy to camouflage itself and hide from predators.

A beetle is made up of three sections. There's the head, the thorax and the abdomen. They also have six legs.Back in the days of ancient Egypt, beetles known as scarabs were looked upon favorably by the Egyptians.

Itsy Bitsy Spider Song

Here's a cute song for kids to listen to.

I was on the Animal Planet website and read something rather creepy. Did you know that you're always within three to ten feet of a spider? I was quite surprised.
