Fairy Facts

Learn About Fairies

To begin with a Fairy is a small being that has wings like a butterfly or dragonfly, they tend to look just like humans only much, much smaller. They are magical beings who are protectors of both animals and our nature, especially our forests since this is where they usually reside.

Although carefree and lighthearted, Fairies tend to be very shy which is why it is not often that you will see Fairies. Fairies are very creative and talented with their hands however they do have trouble building Fairy houses which is why they usually live in naturally created places such as tree stumps and the like. This is why it is good to build a Fairy house if you have a Fairy garden and wish to attract Fairies.

Fairies are very good at making music as well as many other things such as spinning, weaving, metal and leather working and shoe making. Fairies love to celebrate with music and dance and love milk and honey as well as flower nectar which is considered to be Fairy wine.

More Fairy Facts

If you see a circle of mushrooms, known as a Fairy circle or a Fairy ring, this is a sure sign that Fairies live in the area. If you are caught by a Fairy inside of the Fairy ring then you will be required to dance for one year and a day, although to you it will only seem like minutes. Additionally you should never except food or drink from a Fairy if you are inside of a Fairy circle. Although Fairy circles are not really Fairy houses they are considered to be a part of their domain.

Children are more likely to have an encounter with a Fairy as their minds are more open and they have a sense of innocence about them, however, adults do encounter Fairies and it is known that Fairies will help humans when they are asked. They are especially fond of spreading joy and happiness to humans.

Since Fairies have difficulty building Fairy houses they often will use egg shells as their home. Hollowed out logs often serve as their homes as well. Fairies love to decorate their homes with lots of shiny objects and they often will "borrow" these objects from humans.
