Fairy Tales I Once Heard

More Fairy Tales I Once Heard

Source

Fairy Tales Twisted, Not Stirred

Welcome to a world where luscious fairy tales are well told, where it's not only okay to believe in magic, it's required.

Just because you can't see a thing, doesn't mean it's not there. Magic is real. And every once in a while you get a glimpse through the deepest shadows.

Shhhh. Listen.

Ok then.

Don't forget to get your fairy name later on this page!

The Dark Princess is now released. Check it out later on this page.

Mooshka Fairytales Ballerina Casia Girl Doll

Red Riding Hood MeetsThe Big Bad Wolf The odds are 2 to 1 in favor of RR Hood.

Authored by Linda M Hahn

It was dark and scary in the woods. The Wolf had always felt it; but he was a wolf, what was he going to do? Move into an upscale condo with a heavy duty neighborhood watch? Wouldn't be right. Wouldn't be proper.

Then the Red Riding Hoods showed up and started swinging their weight around, talking bad and stealing little bits and pieces. BB Wolf shuddered as he scampered around, avoiding them and laying low.

This little gang, the RR Hoods was all about the reputation - we are big and we are bad. Old ladies started packing heat just to grab a grocery or two. Tension ruled the woods. BB Wolf had a tension headache as he mulled the situation over with his friend, Happy Wolf.

Happy Wolf wasn't worried though, he never was worried. He was a happy go lucky kind of guy. He said, "Let's make friends with them. They won't hurt their friends."

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

The Barbarian Princess - How To Fit In

Authored by Linda M Hahn

The Barbarian Princess was to marry into a proper family, living in a civilized country. This was point one of the agreement between the two countries. This was detente.

Barbie Princess glowered every time she considered the outrage. She was no damned peacemaker. In her beat the heart of a warrior. Barbie was born to fight, she could feel it in her blood.

What would your name be if you were a fairy? - Translate your name into Fairy speak.

Very cool translator. Find your fairy name.

My fairy name is Bramble Icefrost. She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable. She lives in leafy dells and bluebell glades. She is only seen during the first snow of winter. She wears bluebell-blue dresses. She has icy blue butterfly wings.

The Dark Princess

Authored by Linda M Hahn

The Dark Princess may have had some fairy blood

boiling feverishly through her veins.

A handful she was, spoiled a bit, needy a bit,

and with a streak of paranoia that would not quit.

Great lens! Here's my fairy name: Olive Reedfrost

She plays reed pipes and sings spellbinding songs.

She lives in grazing lands and orchards.

She can only be seen during the first snow of winter.

She wears olive green dresses and has deep green butterfly wings.

      Too cute!

Your writing reminds me of James Thurber. I think you would enjoy his book, 'Fables for Our Time.' His re-tell of 'Little Red Riding Hood' ends like this: "So the little girl took an automatic out of her basket and shot the wolf dead." The moral of Little Red Riding Hood is "Young girls are not so easy to fool these days."

Once upon a time... many moons ago... used to teach this unit to kids called 'Twisted Fairy Tales' - SO SO SO fun! And there's a board game by same name, invented by a KID! Didyou know there are actually hundreds of versions of Cinderella? And that some of the origin versions of fairy tales are totally gruesome??? Check out the author Babette Cole - especially love her Cinderella version called "Prince Cinders" ==> very funny! ... and many MORE!

Hi, my fairy name is Cherry Goblinfrost, and I bring riches and wealth, while living in fruit orchards and vineyards. But you can't see me right now...only during the first snow of winter when I wear red, cerise and purple berry to enhance my beautiful gentle green wings. Fortunately I'm also known as Nancy Hardin. I just really enjoyed this lens...so much fun. My Dad read fairy tales to me when I was little, but they weren't funny like these!
