Do you believe that your dreams have meaning?

Yes, absolutely. I believe they are the brain's way of processing the input it has received during the day. They are also an outlet for our anxieties and apprehensions - particularly the subconscious anxieties we didn't even know we had.

Yes, as I believe they are the products of the brain sorting out life's situations, good and bad, or our wishes for the future.  Some are easy to understand and recognise the connection, others much less so; it's the more mysterious ones which are interesting!

Yes, and every once in a while they do. But there are some that are just being chased.

I don't remember many of my dreams, but occasionally still have (bad) dreams of a place where I used to work. I think my mind is, as someone else remarked, "sorting out life's situations."  My wife has incredibly detailed dreams and recalls them prety well too.

I agree with several others, that it is our mind sorting out and processing things. In that respect, it's a meaningful and valuable part of our brain's functioning. But I am not one to think they have a supernatural or symbolic meaning. Dreams don't physically take us somewhere else, and there's nothing mystical about them.

Yes. I have believed that both our waking life and a sleeping life are intertwined since I was in my early teens. Dreams provide answers and solutions to your waking life problems. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

I also think that dreams hold many answers to future issues. For example, before I went to Hawaii a few years ago, I had a dream that my border collie was surfing in Hawaii and hurt her back. This was a few months before we left.  I wish I would have realized the meaning of that dream, because when we came back from Hawaii, she was having issues walking, standing up etc...A trip to the vet gave us the answer that her back was the problem. I could have fixed her issues a long time before our trip if I had just paid more attention to my dream.

I also believe that sometimes dreams are just our way to let go some crazy emotions, fantasies, and thoughts.

No. I've been taught that dreaming is the way your brain expels meaningless clutter so you don't go insane in real life. If they had real meaning that was of any importance, you would be aware of those particular issues while awake. If you think it's some sort of hidden message from God or a higher power, that would be done intuitively; not in a dream. Faith requires conscious decisions.
You can try to interpret dreams any way you can. But it's like astrology. You'll believe what you want to believe.

Since you had been taught that dreams were meaningless had you ever questioned it? Are you aware of conscious influences while awake? Faith requires a conscious decision to believe yet when you go to bed you must have faith that you'll wake up.

They can be meaningless yet still have purpose. Faith of waking? No. One day I won't. I have faith in that. My other faiths let me know that whether I wake up or not, things will be O.K.  The  decisions are made, based on your faith and belief.

I believe our dreams can function in both ways - to help us understand and deal with the stress of daily life and to explore that fantastical side of our selves.

Not all of them but some do have. Some are Divine and some are from Satan.

yes, i believe each dreams have a meaning. Yesterday, i dreamed of a crow sitting at the roof top of our house where every morning I had to sweep away a pile of shit. Today, the shit is gone. I told the dream to my hubby because black crow is back luck. Once you reveal your bad dream, it won't happen again.
