Were you a bully in grade school?

If so, why do you think you were a bully? How did it make you feel at the time? How does it make you feel now?

This is a good question for bullies. I was bullied in grade school through high school. In high school I was abused physically, verbally and mentally by a guy that I loved. I was bullied in grade school-middle school by people who I thought were my friends. They didn't like what I wore, what my hair looked like. They said I had a body like a man because I was a full time athlete at the time. They bullied me when I wanted to become a cheerleader and then by some cheerleaders bullied me because I didn't try out the next year because I wanted to do tumbling again. I do sometimes wonder why they do what they do, but then sometimes I know the answers. Its just the world we live in.

Whitney, thanks for sharing so openly. I'm so sorry to hear that you were bullied in school, but as you say: it was just the world we lived in. Maybe it was a "more grown-up" way of knocking over sand castles and blocks towers... I hope for change!

No, I am never a bully. Instead, I am a victim of bullying. I suppose it is a jinx, that I am always being bullied and made inferior in my primary and secondary days. Somehow people found out my Achilles heel, which is timidness, and capitalized on this flaw to demoralize me; and even my teachers back then don't take this matter seriously (one of my teachers even snapped at me for being pedantic and feeble). Schools are made for the collaboration of academic knowledge. They are not the place for intimidation and vindictiveness. I remembered that I reported at least twelve students who bullied me.

I'm so sorry to hear what you went through; I can (unfortunately) relate only too well. I hope that you find your way out of the "victim" role as time goes by. Good luck and many sympathies!

Well not exactly i was neither of it. But i am against of it. I think that there should be proper laws for bullying in schools. This effects the children badly that demotivates them for the education.
