Can adults as well as children be bullied?

When I look at the Life of Erin Andrews, who was bullied by a stalker who took video of her while taking a shower in her hotel room. The stalker, then posted the video on the internet. She is standing up to her bully by suing him and the hotel for revealing her location where the stalker obtained the video.
In the past I have felt bullied as an adult when my sister and I wrote scripts that were stolen and major movies were made from them and we were never compensated. We are taking a stand against this type of treatment by making our scripts available for purchase ourselves.

Absolutely.  It happens in the work place all the time.  And in an educational environment, the students can actually bully the teacher.

Thank you for your interesting response. You are right it does happen in the work place. How sad that in the educational environment, teachers are bullied by their students. Respect and love, is certainly lacking in the world today.

An adult that bullies another adult is obviously someone that is mean-spirited. It seems hurt adults that are bullies like to hurt others, and are very childish. Bullying is ungodly.

      Hi Ann810,
Thanks for you response. Bullying is ungodly and hateful. Each of us must take our stand against bullies so that #BullyingEndsHere. When we ignore it we create more bullies. We must learn to speak up and do something about it.

One of the problems we see today is where debate is considered bad, and disagreement is labeled hate - so you see censorship in the name of protecting feelings, calling those who disagree with you bullies.

Yes, they can be. Social justice warriors rely on this tactic, seeing it as appropriate to bully people online who express opinions contrary to their checklist of acceptable views, from:
    * namecalling racist/sexist/phobic in mass online, so the person who is upset gets hundreds or thousands of others to bully the person online, and they get permission to do so by "hating hate", so they see their bullying as OK because they think this is defending some politically privileged group
    * flagging everything the person posts as hate/inappropriate so even professional profiles and personal blogs are removed
    * call up someone's employer or mob the employer's social media profile to try to get people fired

      Hi Tamara,
How sad that people go to such hateful actions against another human being. Bullying is wicked. Individuals who practice it will have to answer to Almighty God, who has said, "vengeance is mine." Bullies will reap what they sow.

Adults can certainly be bullied. They can be bullied by business associates, family members, friends, and complete strangers. Bullying is a form of harassment & abuse, it is damaging to the recipient either physically or psychologically / emotionally. There is not an age limit on whether or not one is bullied.
With that said, it sounds like what has happened to you was theft not a case of bullying.

Hello Starving Magazine. I find your call name interesting. I totally agree that bullying, "is a form of harassment." It does make the recipient powerless and psychologically abused.

Thanks also for your comment about my experience.

As a therapist, I helped people who were bullied well into their 80s.  All ages are bullied.

      Hi Patty,
You are right. Bullying can occur no matter what age we are. I am glad to hear that through Erin Andrews' bullying and struggles with cancer, she remains strong and positive. Erin, sat a good example for all victims of bullying. Thanks.
