Why do some people refuse to acknowledge that there is such a thing as pure evil? What makes some
people asserting that evil is merely a human construct?
IDK, but I watched this movie, "Suing the Devil" on TubiTV last night and it goes over all the usual questions about why bad things happen. It goes over all the usual questions. Just like in the "Usual Suspects"; "The greatest trick the Devil ever did was convince people he doesn't exist."
Ptosis you said it right. He has always hidden himself and used objects instead of directly exposing himself. Example, Eve in the garden never saw his face but saw a snake he used as tranquilisim , he decieved Eve. But notice he did not aproach Adam things might have been different.
He is still using the same tactics today making many think God is the reason for human suffering when it is clearly written he is the ruler of this world John 14:30 and claims it Luke 4:6 .
also its clear he gives positions and power to who he wishes. Time has been allowed to prove his evil accusions. All are failures
But people who have willingly been decieved by him always lose something. Eve lost her opportunity to keep living forever. Adam followed her actions.
People also follow his voice not realizing they do will lose a future .
There is a desire to call evil people crazy and/or stupid, though evil people can be both thoroughly sane and rational.
By blaming insanity for evil, you imply it can be eliminated by curing all mental illness and cure the bad person with therapy and drugs.
By blaming stupidity, you imply it is cured by education or easily prevent it through supervision of the retarded.
Evil can be defined as choosing actions that deliberately cause pain and suffering in others, typically for your own enjoyment or benefit. The man who rapes for his sexual pleasure, not caring about her pain; the sadist who tortures others for his pleasure though they are unwilling; the men who join ISIS for permission to kill those they don't like and be rewarded sex slaves as a result; these are evil people.
And while their choices are a decided minority, and we define sanity by the majority, calling them crazy denies the fact that many more people have such impulses they would act out upon if not for vigilance and severe punishment. It is comforting to say it is a small minority capable of such things, but from the Russian gulags to German Holocaust to Cambodian Killing Fields, we have proof every society can produce/release many such people when conditions are right - so it isn't a 1% to be wary of but a potential all people must protect against.
Refusing to admit everyone has that potential is reassuring and denies the individual the need to control themselves.
From my understanding evil is the absence of good morally speaking. The concept of the devil her/him self. Its opposite is absence of bad. That is most seen with God or gods and declarations of sainthood. Between is everything else. So, it is a human construct. Then enters discussion of morality. That said easily one could say science and mathematics is pure evil. They both have no morals. Good is absent and so is bad. They just are. No matter if good can be derived from them, they remain evil.
There is an innate propensity in man to do really bad things and also to do really good things. What ultimately determines the outcome is really the level of growth, or Consciousness.
The adult is more responsible than the child; in the same way, the devotee on the 50th rung of the ladder of evolution would obviously see things a lot clearer than the one on the 10th. Ultimately, all are of God or Spirit. There is nothing outside Spirit and within Spirit all have a purpose. Evil is within the Cosmic plan just as much as Love is. It is there to help us rise. Much Love, Grace.
A baby is not born evil. Chemicals in the brain as well as traumatic environments can cause a person to act evil. I do not believe any baby is born evil. If a child is brought up in a secure, loving home and has no mental illness, things are fine. Turn all of that backwards and you will find what appears to be "evil". Beatings, sexual attacks, bullying, poverty, psychological brain-washing can lead one to seem evil. But even a murderer like Ted Bundy was psychologically traumatized. He grew up thinking that his grandmother was his mother, when actually, his mother was his grandmother's daughter. I don't think he ever knew his real father. Besides that shock, he also most likely, had chemical imbalances in his brain and probably a testosterone overload. Testosterone is what makes a man strong. He was like a wild man when he bludgeoned all those poor girls. "Evil" is a combination of chemicals gone awry in the body and trauma. And even those naive enough to worship the damned devil are probably mentally ill and have chemical imbalances, too. You know why it seems like we have so many mentally ill people nowadays? It's because in the past, babies born "non-perfect" were murdered at birth. That's why.

Why do most people, whilst they acknowledge God's existence fail to live for him?The devil has done everything he can to make people think that he doesn’t exist and yet most people live for him. Most people, though they believe in God don’t live for him. Why is that?
