One of the many things Trump and Hitler have in common is being a demagogue. Others are
- picking on one group of people to vilify, to scare supporters into hating; in Hitler's case it was the Jews, in Trumps case it is Latinos.
- pathological lying
- transactional behavior
- dangerous narcissism
- authoritarianism
Studies were conducting after WW II to try to figure out why otherwise intelligent people would blindly follow such authoritarian figures like Hitler to their death. The result was the discovery of a certain set of personality characteristics that indicate the likelihood of a person following a demagogue like Trump or Hitler. Google Right Wing Authoritarianism (you might run across my hub on the subject but more likely the author of the book on the subject or even John Dean of Nixon fame, whose book brought it to my attention.)
EMPHATIC Yes: Absolutely: That's WHY Social Media Giants have begun to BAN Donald Trump's Nationalist Pals and WHY they are getting WHIPED Out in our elections: Hitler ruled over a CULT as well until the forces of GOOD decisively defeated him and his little brainwashed minions:
Let's not forget this, our American ancestors in the allied armed forces of the 1940's fought and DIED to defeat the Ugly EVIL of Nazi Germany, a bad strain in Europe who thought they were superior and it turns out they were INFERIOR, and now we have nationalist popping up in Charlottesville with their racist, nationalist CHANTS of Hate and Divisiveness: Good for social media BANNING these foul individuals:
You just asked the $64 question, but I believe that the answer is "yes, most of them would." It takes a certain personality type to support a demagogue or a really gullible not-too-bright person. My own family has Trump supporters whom I believe to belong to the first group because they are college-educated fundamentalist Christians, while we see people of the second group all over the place.
Of the educated supporters, I think some of them just transitioned into becoming followers because they were fed up with the establishment and really didn't know what they were getting into. Today they are seeing the light and dropping out. I just hope enough of them are falling by the wayside to ensure that Trump loses.
Maybe they fall under the quote that has been attributed to Abraham Lincoln: You can fool some of the people all of the time, you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. It is this segment of the population that Lincoln says "you can fool some of the people all of the time" that I believe would have supported Hitler. In fact, some of the Trump supporters may be reincarnated Nazis. LOL
Hitler was a fascist. Is Trump one too?

As I was typing these it occurred to me it was describing, almost to a T, today's Conservatives. And since the political spectrum is actually a circle, most of the those attributes apply to practical communism as well.
You know who they don't apply to, even close, are American moderates and liberals. In fact, they are the polar opposite.
I just adore 'look at me, look at me' questions. Everyone comes running to be adored for their beliefs also.
Well done people.

Three things have happened in recent days that should have any logical person convinced that President Trump is a liar and guilty of the thing he's being impeached for:1. His lawyers have asserted that the reason for withholding aid to Ukraine had to due with the fact they were responsible for...

Personally, I think yesterday's events were entirely predictable and the logical progression of a lying con man telling his supporters, day in and day out, over the course of several years, that everyone who is not for him is an enemy of the United States. The angry mob is directly the result...

Even when Trump may have a good idea or two, his temperament and personality negates it all. There is a place for conservatives ideas within the public forum and while their messages are valid and at least deserving of consideration, the messenger in woefully inadaquate to the task. The GOP will...

When Donald Trump made a surprise 3-hour visit to troops in Iraq, he turned them into political props. In the process he took credit (not for the first time) for giving soldiers "their first raise in 10 years" (a lie). He also said "They had plenty of people that came up,...
