The Atomic Bomb is an explosive device created from the reaction of fission and fusion.
This is called a nuclear reaction, which is the release of vast amounts of energy from a little amount of matter. Commonly though of as being used only during war nuclear energy is also now being used a form of energy generation for cities around the world, as its considered a clean energy if managed & controlled well.

Modern warfare use

During the 21st century only 2 nuclear weapons have been used in modern warfare.
Both where used at the end of world war 2. The first was the Bomb dropped on the Japanese City of Hiroshima. The second one was again dropped on japan, but on the city of Nagasaki.

120,000 people where instantly killed, and many more thousands suffered from radiation poisoning for years later.
