Resources for Homeschooling by Homeschoolers

The Homeschool Club is working on creating a directory of the very best, most helpful resources. After years of experience homeschooling and educating our children we have each found certain materials, methods, unit studies and books that we find so helpful, so useful that we just wanted to share them with you.

This directory of homeschooling resources is an every growing collection. We invite you to join us in creating a page about your favorite resource. When you are passionate about something it's easy to write about it. Think of the one thing that you use most often or the one book that has most inspired you and write about it. Be sure to submit it here to the Homeschool Club Directory. We will feature the very best pages in each category.

Need help creating a page? Don't worry, we're here to help.

Homeschooling

The World is Your Classroom - Homeschooling is the Experience of a Lifetime

When you decide to homeschool the world is your classroom. You don't need to read about frogs in a textbook, just stroll down to the frog pond. Instead of trying to learn fractions from a textbook, try making your own pies, pizzas, and cookies. Double recipes and share them with friends. Take a trip to the Panama Canal where you can experience what the geography is like. The World is you Classroom and homeschooling is the door that opens the way...

The Homeschool Club

Write your own page about homeschooling and join the club...

THE HOMESCHOOL CLUB is real parents and kids sharing their best resources for great homeschooling. Each day we celebrate learning by opening doors to a world of creativity, knowledge and discovery. In the car, at the kitchen sink, and down by the frog pond - the whole world is our classroom and we explore it with creative projects, games, and activities. This club is a place to share, organize, and discuss how and what we learn in the world. Make a free page to tell your own homeschooling story and share your favorite resources. We can't wait to hear from you!

@anonymous: Hi Kimberley, All you need to do is to create a Squidoo page about Arithmetic Village. It's free and quite easy to do. Then you will be able to add your new page to this directory. If you need help creating your page just ask. Once you have created your page, contact me again and I will add a category for Math if that has not yet been done.

Is there a way to change old lenses to the new Homeschool Club format?

I've just created a homeschool math curriculum called "Arithmetic Village". It uses five picture books and characters to explain place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The web site offers heaps of free activities and videos. Where, on your site, is the best place for it? Thanks! Kimberly

We always have questions when we homeschool our kids. Are we doing the teaching the right way? Are the kids learning enough? Are the kids getting the right information? Where do we get curriculum? Where do we get ideas to keep the kids occupied? Can we spend a lot of time on things the kids are interested in and less time on stuff they aren't happy with? Are the kids "socialized" (this last one is usually asked by *others* who don't understand homeschooling.... or schooling in general). Nice lens you have here! I've liked it, favorited it, thumbs-upped it, and lensrolled it! Congrats on the great lenses you've been creating!
