The Complete Selection Of Kumon Math Workbooks
These Kumon books are perfect for use at home. Whereas the full Kumon math program costs as much as $100 a month, these workbooks are a great cost effective alternative for at home use.
Written and designed by the company that created the Kumon math program these workbooks use an identical style of problem as the full program.
You should attempt to adapt the program to your own child's needs. For example if your child struggles to complete grade 3 standard work, consider choosing a grade 2 book to allow them to gain confidence before moving on to grade 3 workbooks.

Kumon Addition Workbooks - Kumon Math Addition Workbooks
At a Kumon centre your child will receive a workbook that takes about 20 minutes a day to complete. You should aim for something similar with these workbooks to do at home. The idea should be to do 10-20 minutes a day of work; it is better to do it little and often than to do it once a week for an hour.
Subtraction Workbooks - Kumon math subtraction workbooks
As with the addition above these books are listed in order of difficulty. The key is to start your child where they are comfortable so they don't get discouraged. Better that it is easy at first and that they get confidence than that they struggle.

Kumon Multiplication Workbooks - Kumon Math Multiplication Workbooks
Although multiplication tables aren't really taught by rote any more, you still need repetition to really learn them These books introduce the basic concepts as well as well as giving extensive practise. They also introduce column multiplication.
Top Tip!
Don't start to teach your child division until they have fully mastered multiplication. Division is much, much easier if a child already knows their multiplication tables.

Reader Rabbit!
Reader Rabbit Math Adventure Ages 6-9 (Jewel Case)
I bought this Reader Rabbit game for my kids and they absolutely loved it as a way of helping to reinforce math. It is very well done with long adventures of many parts for the children to go on. It practises all sorts of math concepts and introduces new ones adjusting difficulty level according to how accurately the child answers the problems. There is a certain amount of time taken up with game play, but the flipside of this is that it kept their interest for far longer than a typical session of math would and they were learning without really realising.
