Printable Maps for Kids

Updated on October 7, 2014

Free Printable Maps Teach About the World

Bring the world to your child with printable maps for kids. When my son was young, he loved to study atlases and the globe for hours. Use maps to introduce your child to the world.

Maps can be found in many forms: wall maps, atlases, globes, road maps or street maps to route travel, and map worksheets.

Kids can learn about geography through maps using actual maps, globes, and atlases. In addition, teach kids using map worksheets and use maps to make crafts.

To print this climate map of the United States, visit the National Atlas Web site.

Teach Kids about Mile Markers

Mile markers always start at the state line

in the south (for highways that run north-south),

or in the west (for east-west highways).

So if you enter Oregon from California,

you will see a sign for Mile 1 soon after you cross

the state line, and then see

increasing numbers as you travel north.
