The Psychedelic Fish
A new species has been discovered. It is called Psychedelic Fish(02/2009).
The fish -- which a University of Washington professor has named "psychedelica" is a subset of angler fish. It was discovered by scuba divers off the Island of Ambon in Eastern Indonesia. It is a member of the family, Histiophryne psychedelica. It is striped with a swirling pattern of white and blue colors on a peach backing. It fist-size body is covered with thick folds of skin that protect it from the sharp-edged coral at the bottom of the sea. The fish has a flat face with eyes (aqua in color) directed forward, like humans.
The frogfish moves in short hops, i.e. the frogfish. It seems to propel itself by striking the seabed. Then, push off with its fins and expel water from tiny gill openings to jet itself forward. With it propelling itself and an off-centered tail that causes it to bounce around in a bizarre, chaotic manner, it bounces on the bottom of the sea just like a rubber ball.

Oarfish are large, greatly elongated, pelagic Lampriform fishes comprising the small family Regalecidae. Found in all temperate to tropical oceans yet rarely seen, the oarfish family contains four species in two genera. One of these, the king of herrings (Regalecus glesne), is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest bony fish alive, at up to 17 metres (56 ft) in length.

THIS GUY PUTS A NEW MEANING TO UGLY!
Many artificial reefs are created by sinking anything from ships, street cars, tanks, shopping carts - you name it. On May 2009, a missile-tracking ship General Hoyt S. Vandenberg met its fate at the bottom of the ocean, seven miles off Key West.
