Thanksgiving Lapbook

Updated on June 29, 2015

A History Unit Study

Take a break from your regular homeschool curriculum and have a Thanksgiving unit study.

History, culture, and food all come together in this holiday topic. Create a Thanksgiving lapbook to record what you learn. This page will direct you to great books to read and free resources for making a Thanksgiving lapbook or notebook project.

Reproducible Books about Thanksgiving

These titles from Scholastic and Evan Moor are reproducible, so they can be legally used over and over in your homeschool. Remember, if you make a 3D project that doesn't fit well into a lapbook or notebook, you can photograph it and include the picture instead.

Northeast Indians: Reproducible Models That Help Students Build Content Area Knowledge and Vocabulary and Learn About the Traditional Life of Native American Peoples (Easy Make & Learn Projects)

This book delivers what it says. The projects are simple paper crafts that you create by simply photo copying the templates included, cutting out the pieces, and coloring & assembling them. The book also tells you how to use the craft to teach, so these projects are not mere busy work. The projects are easily adaptable to lapbooking and notebooking.

Great page Jimmie. I am really enjoying all your squidoo pages. You are very good at making them. Not sure if you listed this resource or not but I just came across it today - It is a unit study with questions, vocabulary as well as activities for the Thanksgiving on Thursday book.

Also if you look on the very bottom of that site you'll find the MTH books studies. (many to choose from)

Hi Jimmie...what a super lens for home schoolers. Most of my great-nieces and great-nephews were/are home schooled over the last 18 years. I was able to help them some in US History. I'll be sure to show your Lens to them! 5* for you & my faves! Great images too. :-)
