Survivor 2012 Leif Manson A little person I look up to.

Updated on May 9, 2012

Making TV history

Leif Manson is making TV history this year as the first ever little person to appear on CBS's hit television show Survivor.

Leif is a 27-year-old Phlebotomist from San Diego CA. The first little person to appear on Survivor . According to Leif he makes the best smoked turkey and other meats around. And does what he does for his biggest inspiration ,his daughter .

I realize everyone most likely knows this ,but just in case a Phlebotomist is a person trained to take small quantities of blood from living persons or animals. Usually for testing. At least according to.

I wanted to go kick some a##es

I cannot remember what episode this immunity challenge was in. I was sitting next to my wife on my laptop as she watched Survivor, and I happened to notice the contestants were all playing a kind of messed up basketball game in water. I was pulled in I could not help it .

You know I am a guy. I see girls in bathing suites and guys competing . What can I do? I am genetically required to look. As the drama unfolds I am getting more pissed by the moment.

I did not know his name at the time. However as I watched this little person competed with full sized people in this game.

The game was being played in water, so when the water was up to the other contestants waist it was much deeper for him . That says to me that he must work much harder in this game then any one else to move through the water.

Then what made me very angry. Another contestant named Micheal is taking Leif and throwing him around like a rag doll. Although I was pissed at the time. On reflection I do not blame Micheal . Leif knew what he was getting into no one could expect Micheal to sit there and let the other team win because he will not out power the little person.

I have never met Leif , but I kind of think he would not want that any way.

That is why I look up to him. I am 6'3 an over 200 LBS and have been all my adult life. I never think much about being in that situation where I am physically out matched with no chance . That is not to say it cannot happen. As I get older I find more and more that I am with young guys at work who are stronger faster and have more endurance than I.

After that night I started watching with my wife and.

I have never seen Leif complain about his disadvantage it is as if he does not know he is smaller than the other contestants. That is why I look up to him . How would most of us react in the same situation? Just watch the video to see what I am talking about.

Interesting. I've been a strong Survivor fan over the years, though less lately since we've had a homestead to finish out and a President to give the boot in November (2012).

But your Hub got me to Google Survivor 24 & discover that Leif was voted out on the April 18 episode (today is May 8).

      Voted Up & More.:)
