Cartoon shows are irresistibly unavoidable for kids all around the world, due to which I sometime wonder what the world would have been without this speckle of comical propensity that it has witnessed over the centuries in terms of entertaining caricatures, comics and animations. It hasn’t been a genre of entertainment just for the kids all around the world but also for quite a lot of grown-ups as well who have that particular taste for wit and resourcefulness sparkling in them. The likes of such entreats a legion of fans that have been and still are drolly entertained all over the world. Cartoons not only provide the right type of entertainment, but it also caters a whimsical and an imaginative inclination that has the power of conviction and a resounding element of ensuing delight that propels.

Cartoons have a momentous impact and a treasured history that gratifies a serious multitude of ingenious characters that have been created over the centuries dating back from the black and white era to the modern-day High Definition (HD) era. Various cartoon characters and cartoon series have made their mark and are still remembered by many for setting the bar due to their categorical and completely entertaining varieties such as the Mickey Mouse, Pink Panther, Scooby Doo and especially the Tom and Jerry shows to name a few. Similarly, there have been some of the major cartoon series that haven’t been able to continue into the next generation of enthusiasts due to multiple reasons whatsoever. However, these cartoon series still have a decent fan following but collaterally they deserve a definite comeback that accords with the true essence and outrageously attention-grabbing themes based on these wonderful characters popular for their definitive time in history.

My Top Ten

My list of top ten cartoon series that seriously deserve a comeback for the generations to laud and remember includes the following:

The Addams Family
The Addams Family

1. The Addams Family.

The Addams Family show is the perfect comeback series that couldn’t be less deserving than any other. This show was one of the best family entertainment shows I remember watching with my siblings and enjoying all the amusement it had. The show had the best scripts and storyboard written for it with proper sequences being followed. This series is by far one of the greatest family shows ever created.

The SWAT Kats

2. Swat Kats.

Talking about superheros with epic jets, this is the perfect cartoon series that accords. The Radical Squadron, had two of the finest pilot cats portrayal in the form of T-bone and Razor, who played two crime-fighting undercover cats. Even though it didn’t have a lot of villainous characters but still this show successfully managed to pull out great sequences altogether.

The Mask

3. The Mask.

This show was one of my all-time favorites having one of the most entertaining characters created through the imaginative eye. It was also one of the most satirical and swift comedic reliefs for its viewers with so many enchanting and memorable dialogues from the show. The Mask was a truly enjoyable show about an ordinary guy with a powerful mask.

Merrie Melodies

4. Merrie Melodies.

These were the perfect kid aspired delights that any kid of this time would have definitely loved and approved without second thoughts. They had a number of characters to enchant and enjoy. This show needs a proper comeback to give its characters a new recognition that they truly deserve. The new generation has to see a resurgence of these lively characters that have entertained audiences since decades all around the globe. It included some of the most famous cartoon characters such as the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and many others

The Pink Panther

5. The Pink Panther.

When we speak about legendary cartoon characters, Pink Panther is one of the very A-list characters that comes to our mind. The Pink Panther show is somewhat the most innocent things of its time. Kids delved into the innocence of the pink skinned character and enjoyed every bit without cavernous. It had a catchy tune in its legendary opening soundtrack. Still one of the most loved characters in the history of entertainment. This show needs a rejuvenating comeback not just for its legion of fans all around the world but for the next to come.

The Fantastic Four.

6. The Fantastic Four.

These characters are one of those evergreen cartoon characters that are quite memorable and well-defined ones in terms of storyboard and theme. People are truly aware of these four superheroes that entertained the world for decades and still are inspiring through comics and movies. Despite a list of seasons and episodic screenings over the years, the original script needs a revamping response to leave an impact that is unmatchable. The revival of this series would definitely be worth watching.

Batman Beyond/Batman of the Future.

7. Batman of the Future.

Of course a lot is already written, read and expressed for the legendary character and its different versions all over the world which is why it definitely needs no further intros. It is so powerful in terms of the historical impact it has been able to create over the years that it had a couple of reincarnations of its own and I remember that Batman of the Future (aka Batman Beyond) is one of such reincarnations having one of the best costume and attitude that Batman could ever have. This show introduced the world to the original and younger versions of the character which was quite a realistic and much more enthralling version of the character than any of its previous installments and undoubtedly one of the finest scripts written for an untried version of the superhero character. The character’s athletic abilities made it more convincing to follow.

8. Aladdin.

Aladdin had its own set of wonderful characters that had their share of entertainment in their respective time in history. A wonder of Disney, it was so popular back in the day that it had its own video games developed and a number of movies released to its name. This show had a theme that many admired and characters that personified many modified stories of the past. This iconic and magical show deserves a comeback as well.

Popeye the Sailor.
Popeye the Sailor.

9. Popeye the Sailor.

From the iconic anchor tattoo to the spinach loving macho sailor, it was one of the most entertaining shows on TV. Despite lacking modernized animations, this show was always entertaining and a delight to watch. It never embraced boredom. Popeye was a wonderful character and I believe that it needs a resurrection. Popeye's major characters included Popeye the Sailor (himself), Olive Oyl (his love interest), Bluto (Main Villain) and many others.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers

10. Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

With such an unforgettable theme and quite memorable taglines, who could forget Captain Planet? This was a show that I believe had a much needed superhero for the world to see as he portrayed an imaginative nature loving superhero who embraced fighting pollution. One of finest shows of its time, it had all the lessons for taking down pollution. Kids today must learn how to protect the natural habitat to cherish the beauty of nature and this show could be a great motivation for them to take the first step in protecting the environment from pollution. Like they say: “Plant a tree, one, two or three”.

There are a lot of cartoons that doesn’t even have a proper storyboard written for them but still are being aired for kids to watch as the level of entertainment compared to what it was decades ago has indisputably tumbled. None of the modern day cartoons have a match to the likes of the legendary series or characters we know as the Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Batman, etc. The treasured history of cartoons has loads of characters that have been created to entertain us over the years. People still browse over the internet for good cartoons as well as funny animated video clips or simply watch cartoons online on different sites.

Many characters are being developed at a very fast pace all over the world as cartoons have the ultimate power to convince mass audiences through their historical impact. This futuristic work of fiction has a profound influence over its multitude of fans which is why there needs to be a more realistic development of characters that can revive these old gems that are only obtainable through the archives to uplift the level of entertainment we have left for the younger generations today. Thanks for reading!
