10 Loveliest Actresses You May Not Know: Part 2

Updated on June 3, 2017

Rising Stars Ready to Make Their Mark

My first hub focusing on actresses whose stars are rising has been a very popular hub, so I decided I might as well do a second hub to include a few ladies I had to drop from the first hub as well as a couple of new discoveries and one or two who were suggested by others. With new actresses coming on the scene every day, it is impossible to include every deserving actress, but I think you will agree these are some great choices.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as the first and please remember to vote in the poll at the end of the hub. As always, I welcome any comments. Suggestions are welcome as well because I am almost certain there will be a third list sometime in the future. Probably a fourth and fifth as well, so don't be shy -- who do you see as the next rising star?

Kirsten Storms

Kirsten Storms was born April 8, 1984 in Orlando, Florida, and has that upbeat disposition that seems common to blond girls coming from states with lots of sunshine. She is best known for her work on the soap operas Days of Our Lives and General Hospital as well as the short-lived spin-off General Hospital: Night Shift. She was also the lead character in the Disney Channel's Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century trilogy of films.

Kirsten has legions of fans and unlike some soap opera stars whose fans primarily come from viewers of those shows, she still has many fans who remember her for the film roles she did for Disney. Many expected her to have a huge film career that has not developed, but that may well be a choice she has made as she is doing very well in the soaps. Since I am not a big fan of soap operas, I have to count myself as one of those patiently waiting for her to get her time on the big screen, but for now, Kirsten seems happy being a star of daytime TV.

Krysten Ritter

Having modeled for Elite Model Management as well as Wilhelmina Models, Krysten Ritter has been in front of a camera professionally since the age of fifteen. Born December 16, 1981, Krysten was raised on a beef farm in Pennsylvania. At age 18, she moved to New York City and modeled internationally for about five years before beginning her acting career in 2001. She has been building a solid reputation since then for bringing life to her sometimes quirky characters.

So far Krysten Ritter's best moments have been playing Suze, sidekick to Isla Fisher's compulsive shopper in Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Patty, sidekick to Alice Eve's big leaguer in She's Out of My League. But everyone seems to know it is just a matter of time before this sexy, talented, laugh-out-loud funny hottie hits the big time and starts scoring major starring roles. With at least eight projects slated to hit this year, Krysten is definitely one of the busiest ladies in Hollywood and will certainly soon be one of the most successful.

Jennifer Ellison

Jennifer Ellison was born is Liverpool, England on May 30, 1983. She is an actress, model and singer who is probably best known as a model. She began as a model but has been branching out in recent years. She has routinely appeared in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World" mostly due to her popularity as a model, peaking at #17 in 2005.

In her acting career, she is probably best known for her appearance as Meg Giry in the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera which starred Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum, but her best film appearance in my opinion is her role as a gangster's daughter who is kidnapped in the comedic thriller The Cottage. With the good looks of a model and acting ability just beginning to bloom, Jennifer is bound to soon be a very recognizable star.

Felicity Jones

With a half dozen films due out in 2011, this will be a very busy year for Felicity Jones. The young actress who first drew attention as snobbish witch Ethel Hallow in the British ITV television series The Worst Witch started 2011 off on the right foot, winning a Special Jury Prize (Dramatic) at the Sundance Film Festival for her performance as Anna in the film Like Crazy. Felicity best performance so far is almost certainly her role as Miranda in the film The Tempest, but as busy as she is staying, the sky is the limit for this English beauty!

Riley Keough

Even if she were not an actress and model, Riley Keough would still have a unique claim to fame -- she is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley making the lovely lass Elvis and Priscilla Presley's oldest grandchild. Not that Riley would ever need to rely on namedropping if her excellent portrayal of Cherie Currie's older sister Marie in The Runaways is any indication. With her next film due out being the lesbian werewolf epic, Jack and Diane, it might seem she has taken an unusual path to stardom, but if initial reports on the film are correct, her role as Jack may be the breakthrough role of her career.

Elena Satine

I first heard of Elena Satine when she was being considered for the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2, a role which eventually went to Scarlett Johansson. While I realize Scarlett is a more popular choice, personally I would have preferred to see Elena in the role. She got her start with the indie film, Ripple Effect, playing a small role. She has gone on to appear in several other films as well as television episodes for shows like NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service and Smallville where she portrayed the wife of Aquaman. She will have a major part in the upcoming television series Magic City which will also star Kelly Lynch and Jeffrey Dean Morgan and a larger part than in her previous films in the sci-fi thriller In Time due out later this year with stars Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy.

Indiana Evans

Indiana Evans gained major attention in the same place many of Australia's most popular actresses do -- on the hit soap opera Home and Away. She had a small amount of experience before joining the show, but it was during her time with this show that she became well known in her native land. She has since moved on to other shows including her current series, Crownies, and even has had a part in a film though it was a small part and the film, Arctic Blast, was pretty bad. Still, with Indiana's talent and beauty, it is only a matter of time before she becomes a much bigger star both in Australia and here in the United States.

Grace Gummer

While you may not be familiar with lovely Grace Gummer, you have probably heard of her mother -- award-winning actress Meryl Streep. But Grace is not one to rely on her mother's talent to make her name. She did not begin acting until after graduating from Vassar College, a private highly-selective liberal arts school. with degrees in Italian and art history. And Grace entered the film world like most other aspiring actresses -- paying her dues with small roles as she hones her craft. But anyone who has seen her perform will surely agree that this is a talented young woman with a very bright future, Definitely one of the rising stars to watch!

Paydin LoPachin

Paydin LoPachin became a child model at the age of eleven and soon was doing work for companies like Abercrombie and Italian Vogue. She quickly moved on to television commercials for retailers such as Kohl's and JC Penney. From there, it was likely inevitable that she wold soon move on to acting. Unfortunately, I would be misleading you if I claimed her acting credits are particularly impressive.

Her best performance was in the horror film Triloquist but despite her widely praised depiction of the psycho alcoholic Angelina, nothing Paydin could do would have been able to save this jumbled mess of cinematic gobbledygook. Yes, I said gobbledygook but there really is no other word to describe a film this bad. Hopefully Paydin will find some better scripts soon to better display her acting chops as well as highlight her girl-next-door natural beauty.

Mary Kate Wiles

When Dark Woods was released, viewers were in for a special treat as Mary Kate Wiles stole the film as Alicia Larch, the unbalanced daughter of a local oddball Rand Larch. As she moved in and took over the life of the film's protagonist, she also captivated the audience as well. With a starring role in the intriguing Dreamworld slated for release later this year as well as a prominent part in Murder in the Dark which is also due later this year, Mary Kate seems to be poised to build a solid reputation as a great actress. The fact that she is exceptionally gorgeous should only ease her way to fame.

Of the actresses listed, who do you think will rise to the top?
