10 Movies That Will Cheer You Up And Make You Feel Good Like The Blind Side

Not everybody gets a seconds chance. That's a fact. But another fact is that not everyone who gets a second chance makes the most of it. There are very few people who grab this chance with both hands. Oher in "The Blind Side" is one of those very few. Oher's life not only makes us feel good but also inspires us.

The movie has an ordinary story but executed perfectly. However obvious, it touches the audience by making them tear up in some moments and cheering them in others. It lifts your spirits and makes you feel good about yourself and society both.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

This wonderful inspirational movie will lift your spirits

On the Christmas Eve of Bedford Falls, the guardian angel Clarence is assigned to convince the desperate George Bailey not to commit suicide. George is a good man that sacrificed his dreams and his youth on behalf of the citizens of his small town. He inherited the loan business of his father and he gave up traveling the world and joining University as scheduled. Later he resisted the proposals of the evil banker Mr. Potter, and never sold his business to protect the poor community of Bedford Falls and offer a means to afford to buy their own house. He married his beloved Mary Hatch Bailey and had four children with her and a tough life with his family. When his uncle Billy loses US$ 8,000.00, found and stolen by Mr. Potter, George decides to commit suicide, since he believes he’s worth more dead than alive. When Clarence sees that he is not able to persuade George to give up his intention, he decides to show the life in town if George had never existed. George concludes that life is wonderful.

Up (2009)

Up is funny, touching, exciting, entertaining and full of life at the same time

Carl Fredricksen as a boy wanted to explore South America and find the forbidden Paradise Falls. About 64 years later he gets to begin his journey along with a Boy Scout named Russel with help from 500 balloons. On their journey they discover many new friends including a talking dog and Carl and Russel figure out that someone evil plans. Carl soon realizes that this evildoer is his childhood idol. Will they be able to defeat him and will they find Paradise Falls?

Billy Elliot (2000)

A feel-good movie with astounding performances and without getting overly preachy

County Durham, during the endless, violent 1984 strike against the Thatcher closure of British coal mines. Widower Jackie Elliot and his firstborn, fellow miner Tony, take a dim view of 11 year-old second son Billy's poor record in boxing class, which worsens when they discover he sneakily transferred to the neighboring, otherwise girls-only-attended ballet class. Only one schoolmate, closet-gay Michael Caffrey, encourages Billy's desire, aroused by the teacher, who judged him talented enough for private lesson, to train and try out for the world-renowned Royal Ballet audition. Only the prospect of a fancy career unimagined in the pauper quarter may twist pa and big brother's opposition to indispensable support.

The Sound of Music (1965)

Maria had longed to be a nun since she was a young girl, yet when she became old enough discovered that it wasn't at all what she thought. Often in trouble and doing the wrong things, Maria is sent to the house of a retired naval captain, named Captain Von Trapp, to care for his children. Von Trapp was widowed several years before and was left to care for seven 'rowdy' children. The children have run off countless governesses. Maria soon learns that all these children need is a little love to change their attitudes. Maria teaches the children to sing, and through her, music is brought back into the hearts and home of the Von Trapp family. Unknowingly, Maria and Captain Von Trapp are falling helplessly in love, except there are two problems, the Captain is engaged, and Maria is a postulant!

Breaking Away (1979)

Dave, nineteen, has just graduated high school, with his 3 friends, the comical Cyril, the warm hearted but short-tempered Moocher, and the athletic, spiteful but good-hearted Mike. Now, Dave enjoys racing bikes and hopes to race the Italians one day, and even takes up the Italian culture, much to his friends and parents annoyance. Meanwhile, the 4 friends try to break away from their townie, Indiana reputation while fighting with nearby college snobs.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

A thrilling ride of a delightful story and marvelous performances

In the far reaches Eastern Europe in the former Republic of Zubrowka, there once was the Grand Budapest hotel. A writer remembers a stay at the hotel during the off season many years ago and recalls the tales he heard of the hotel's past from the elderly owner, Mr. Mustafa. He tells the young writer about how he came to acquire the hotel and of the original concierge of the Grand Budapest, M. Gustave H. Mustafa was a lobby boy at the time and accompanies Gustave to the reading of a will after one of their regular guests dies. She leaves Gustave a valuable painting but when the woman's son challenges the will, Gustave and Mustafa steal the painting setting off a series of events that will lead to Mustafa present circumstance.

Dazed and Confused (1993)

An affectionate look at the youth culture, this movie would make you wanna dance

In a small Texas enclave, highlights the rites of passage on the last day of school in 1976 for the new, incoming freshmen at the hands of the class of '77 at Robert E. Lee High School. Freshman boys are physically punished, while the girls largely face the brunt of verbal abuse and humiliation. Two main figures emerge. Incoming freshman Mitch Kramer comes to a new realization in his role as a major target of senior hazing. And, among the seniors is Randall "Pink" Floyd, the school's star quarterback, who moves with facile grace among groups of greasers, nerds, stoners, and athletes alike.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

A benchmark movie in rom-com genre, this is one to relish.

Life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano has lost everything - his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother and father after spending eight months in a state institution on a plea bargain. When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

The Way Way Back (2013)

This summer, life is going to be a little better. Duncan is a 14-year-old boy who lacks confidence and friends. He is forced to go on a family vacation with his mother, mother's boyfriend, and his 17-year-old daughter. Being shy does not help him make friends, but he refuses to stay locked up inside all day long. Little did he know that sitting at a picnic table at a waterpark was going to change his entire outlook of his summer, but also his confidence. This is an absolute "must see." It will have you laughing and keep you completely engaged.

Cool Runnings (1993)

A charming tale of determined underdogs, it is an ultimately inspirational film

When the Jamaican sprinter Derice Bannock is disqualified from the Olympic Games due to a silly accident, he envisions the chance to participate in bobsled modality. He meets the dishonored coach Irving Blitzer, who is living in the tropical country after two gold medals and elimination due to cheating, and convinces him to coach the first Jamaican Bobsled Team. They form a group with the push-cart driver Sanka Coffie, the sprinter Yul Brenner and the rich Junior Bevil and without any sponsor, fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to participate of the XV Olympic Winter Games.
