5 Super Weird Comedy Movies
1. Cornetto Trilogy
The Cornetto trilogy brings together three absolutely amazing dumb comedies we have ever seen. Shaun of the Dead is a zombie rom-com having our protagonist Shaun (Simon Pegg) deals with his family issues amidst an apocalyptic zombie uprising. Meanwhile, Hot Fuzz gets better with the logic and brings us Danny ( Nick Frost) and Nicholas (Simon pegg) who are cops investigating murders in a small village and end up uncovering a whole lot of mess in the "Village of the Year". Finally, the last of the trilogy is The World's End, a sci-fi-com. A pub crawl leads our protagonists into a web of out of the world experiences, quite literally. The three movies make for a fun one or two time watch (five if you are as brave and funny as me).
2. Pineapple Express
James Franco takes away the award for the highest number of dumb comedy movies. Dale (Seth Rogen) and Saul (James Franco) piss off a drug Lord, Ted (Gary Cole). What ensues is a chase, trippin', a lot of chasing, trippin', a bunch of high humor and there you go.
3. Tropic Thunder
You need to have an advanced sense of humor to enjoy this Ben Stiller bad war movie (or so I'd like to believe). The thrills are high on this one, we have helicopters, action heroes, explosions...oh speaking of which, it doesn't go well for the film crew including Kirk (Robert Downey Jr), Tugg (Ben Stiller) and Jeff (Jack Black) among others. The movie crew is forced to act the movie in real life following humorous mishaps ranging from a pyrotechnic failure to being pursued by a local drug dealer.
4. Zoolander
Does Ben Stiller ever disappoint? No, obviously, no! Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) is an egoistic, narcissistic model is sad following his rival, Hansel's (Owen Wilson {wow}) success in a beauty pageant. The emotionally broken model is promised a runway by fashion mogul, Jacobin Magatu (Will Ferrel), in return of assassinating the Malaysian Prime Minister. 'Magnum' saves the day, is all I can say!
5. Borat
All of most of Sacha Baron Cohen's works are highly appreciated by humor lovers. He is also mostly involved in controversies for most of his works, but what stops him from making amazing movies? That's right, nothing. In this humorous mess of a movie, a Kazakhstan based journalist travels to America for making a documentary and derives hilarious similarities between the country and his own. If you take no offenses, get on this roller coaster.
