  • It’s got a well-rounded cast of characters that really play into the theme of ex rival gangsters now working together in a bakery. One of the characters always wears dark shades and likes to collect guns, but since the sole woman in the show doesn’t like it, he disguises them as kitchen tools.

  • So I’m Not Handsome is funny, but doesn’t go overboard on casting an unattractive lead (which is sort of a cop out when it comes to comedy.) JJ Lin as the lead has been made up to look somewhat nerdy but he’s not ugly. In a way, this means they managed to poke fun at society’s obsession with prettyboys without being politically incorrect.
  • The series doesn’t rely on prettyboys or idol good looks, which makes the comedy that much more effective when it works, as it’s no longer relying on fan service.
