10 Terrifying Horror Movies You Should Never Watch Alone

I'm obsessed with horror movies so I wanted to make my own list of scary horror movies particularly ones you should never watch alone.

#10. House of Wax (2005)

House Of Wax is a 2005 slasher/thriller film and is a remake from the original movie which debuted in 1993. The film stars Elisha Cuthbert, Paris Hilton, Robert Ri'chard, Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van Holt, and Jared Padaleki. It was released May 6, 2005.

Carly, her boyfriend Wade, Her best friend Paige, Paige's boyfriend Blake and Carly's twin brother Nick and his friend Dalton are on their way to a football game in Louisiana. by the time nightfall comes the gang decides to set up camp in the woods in a small ghost town. Little do they know the whole entire town is deserted because everyone there has been murdered and turned into wax.

Two twin brothers run their parent's Wax Museum and they kidnap the townspeople, murder them, and then put their corpses in wax so they can be wax figures for the museum. Soon it becomes clear that Carly, Nick and their friends are going to be the next corpses on the list.

#9. Carrie (2002)

Carrie is a 2002 television/thriller movie that aired on NBC on November 4, 2002. It's based on the book by the same name written by Stephen King. It stars Angela Bettis, Tobias Mehler, Emilie De Ravin, Patricia Clark, and Rena Sofia just to name a few. The film is actually another remake of the 1976 film Carrie. It also spawned a third remake which debuted in 2013.

It takes place about two weeks before prom. Carrie White is a shy and tormented high school student being bullied by two of the most popular girls in her grade Chris Christine Hargenson, and her friend Tina. Sue Snell asks her boyfriend Tommy to accompany Carrie to the prom to make up for the bullying. Carrie and Tommy arrive to the prom and at first everything is going swell. They win Prom King and Queen.

As they make their way on stage Chris and her boyfriend Billy dump a bucket of pigs blood on Carrie from on top of the stage. The bucket falls on Tommy's head knocking him out. Carrie uses her power of telekinesis to lock the doors, set the gym on fire, and kill everybody. She throws tables, tramples them, and then leaves. On her way home she kills Chris and Billy when they try to run over her. She throws their truck into a pole.

#8. Scream

The 1996 version of Scream premiered on December 20th, 1996. Neve Campbell stars as high school student Sidney Prescott. Sidney is still reeling from the death and rape of her mother.

Aside from that a killer named Ghostface who dons a white mask, long black gown, and carries around a butcher knife has just entered the town of Woodsboro, California where Sidney resides with her father.

The whole entire town is paralyzed with fear when he murders 18 year old Casey Becker and her boyfriend Steve. So its safe to say that in this town where Ghostface reeks havoc, anybody can be his next victim including Sidney's friends and even Sidney herself.

#7. Child's Play

Convicted killer Charles Lee Ray was killed by police officer Mike Norris. Charles then decides to use black magic to transport his soul into a creepy looking doll named Chucky. Karen Barclay then buys the doll for her son Andy.

When Chucky kills Andy's babysitter, Andy begins to suspect that the doll is evil and tries to warn everybody he knows but nobody believes him. He then becomes institutionalized.

So Karen tries to explain that Chucky is alive and dangerous to Mike Norris. At first he doesn't believe her but later on they team up to take Chucky down and save Andy before he becomes Chucky's next victim. Child's Play is a 1988 slasher/thriller movie. It stars Katherine Hicks and Chris Sarandon.

#6. I Know What You Did Last Summer

Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and her boyfriend Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.) haven't seen or talked to their friends Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Barry (Ryan Philippe) since one frightening night last summer when they accidently ran over a fishermen, threw his body in the river, and swore to never tell anybody.

Now the four friends must come together again when Julie gets a weird note from an unknown person telling her they know about the accident. A short while later Barry is killed by a man carrying a meat hook. The unknown person goes by the name the Hook who's real name is Ben Willis, and the horrifying situation only worsens as he continues to stalk Helen, Julie, and Ray.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 slasher film released October 17th of that year.

#5. Final Destination 3

Teenager Wendy Christenson and her friends are still recovering from an almost horrible rollercoaster accident. Wendy had a premonition that everybody on the ride would die due to a problem with the rollercoaster. Luckily she cheated death and got most of her friends off the ride except her best friend Carrie and her boyfriend Jason who both die from the accident.

Now that Wendy and her remaining friends have cheated death, death is now out for blood. You see death is a force that causes people to die in freak accidents.

Since Wendy and her friends didn't die this time death is now going to follow them and set up more freak accidents to make sure they definitely will soon. Final Destination 3 was released in 2006. The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ryan Merriman.

#4. Simon Says

A creepy gas station attendant who's named Simon and his twin brother Stanley terrorize five unsuspecting collegians at a campground. The plot twist is Stanley is in an coma and its just Simon committing the murders.

Simon murdered his and Stanley's parents and inherited their gas station. Simon doesn't really have a legit reason why he murders people at this campsite other than the fact that's he just insane. He also has a weird habit of playing the game Simon Says with the victims he frightens.

Simon Says was released in theaters on September 24th, 2006. Crispin Glover plays Simon with Blake Lively, Kelly Vitz, and Margo Harshman as some of his co-stars.

#3. Prom Night (2008)

Originally set in 2005, Donna Kapplemen has returned home from going to the movies with her friend Lisa. At first the house seems normal. Too bad Donna didn't spot her dead father laying on the couch from what appears be stab wounds. She goes to yell at her little brother but he doesn't answer. She turns him over and sees he's dead. Like her father, he was stabbed. She then hides under the bed and has to watch as her mother gets stabbed right in front of her by her old teacher Richard Fenton.

Richard used to be Donna's chemistry teacher but he grew obsessed with her and began stalking her. Her parents got a restraining order but that didn't keep him away. He was arrested and sent to an insane asylum but he has since escaped. Now on Donna's prom night Richard has followed her there to the hotel where the prom is being held and is determined to find her and finally take her away. In order to do that though he must kill anybody that gets in his way.

Prom Night debuted April 11th, 2008 with Brittany Snow as Donna Kapplemen and Johnathon Schaech as Richard Fenton

#2. The Grudge 2

Aubrey travels to Tokyo to search for her missing sister Karen. While there, Aubrey encounters a terrible curse from the mysterious house that Karen and her boyfriend were staying in before she went missing. The curse takes over its victims and fills them with murderous rage destroying everything in their path. Karen is alive in the hospital, however she is being stalked by the original victims of the curse which was a Japanese family.

The husband found out his wife had fallen in love with another man and murdered her and their son. He himself was then hung by the ghost of his dead wife. The family all lived in that house where Karen was living in which is why she is now cursed by them. Aubrey tries to talk to Karen in her hospital room but all of a sudden Karen freaks out because of the curse and Aubrey has to leave. A few moments later the ghost of the dead wife chases Karen to the roof and pushes her off leaving her to fall to her death in front of Aubrey and her boyfriend.

Aubrey finds out the curse and realizes its up to her to end it once and for all. The Grudge 2 is a supernatural horror flick which came out in October 2013. Amber Tamblyn is played by Aubrey with Sarah Michelle Geller as her sister Karen.

#1. The Exorcism Of Emily Rose

Emily Rose was a 19 year old college student who just so happened to become possessed by a devil. Her parents have the local priest perform an exorcism on Emily which ultimately results in her death. The priest is sent to prison for murder and his new lawyer Erin Christine Bruner comes to his jail cell to speak with him about his court hearing that's coming up.

The movie then goes back and forth between the court hearings and flashbacks of how Emily was acting in the days leading up to her exorcism. The scary film's release date was September 9th, 2005 and is loosely based on a true story. Emily Rose is portrayed by the lovely Jennifer Carpenter.
