Patience by Guns and Roses

Tune your Guitar half step down. NO CAPO

Strum Pattern to use: D DU UDU (D meaning a Down Stroke and U meaning an upstroke). Song is in 4/4 time

Verse: The chords in the verse last twice as long meaning play/strum the chord pattern listed above twice before playing the next chord

C G A D

C G A D

Chorus: The chords here last for only 4 beats except for the D on the second line which will last 4 times as long.

C G C EM C G D

C G C EM C G D

The D is usually play in a variation mode of D Dsus2 and Dsus4 but for purposes of making this song as simple as possible I listed it as D which sounds quite well still while you play along to the song.

Wish you were Here by Pink Floyd

No capo, standard tuning.

Strum pattern to use: D D UDDU UDU. Song is in 4/4 time

C D AM G

D C AM G

Again, for purposes of making this song as easy to play as possible I have not included the intro which involves some arpeggios, slides and pulloffs.

I'm Yours by Jason Mraz

Capo on 5 standard tuning.

Song is in 4/4 time. Strum pattern to use: DUD DUD DUD DUD

G D EM C

The intro features some cool 2 finger slides which are not that difficult and the song does include and A chord at one point but you can apply these chords basically throughout the entire song.

Stand By Me by Ben E King

Standard tuning no capo

Strum pattern to use D DU UDU.

G G EM EM

C D G G

Ideally, the first down of your strumming should be for the base note only and the rest to be full strummed but if you have difficulties doing it that way stick to the way you know how to play the strum pattern best.
