‘80s and ‘90s: The Heavy Metal Years

Heavy metal which was considered non-mainstream suddenly found the spotlight in the ‘80s. Songs of heavy metal bands became a symbol of rebellion with youth in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Many bands in this genre landed recording contracts with major record companies.
