1980's post apocalyptic movies

What started it all

I was over to a relative of mine the other day and he was playing PS3.  I found it a little strange that he didn't shut the game off to visit me like he generally did when I was there. But this time he was half listening to me and  ignoring me while focusing on the game.

After a few minutes of watching over his shoulder, trying to figure out what the big deal was about this game he was playing, he pressed the pause button.

He told me he just got his hands on the new Fallout:New Vegas.

He then told me what it was all about. He told me the game was set in post apocalypse time line and there was an old ruined casino strip surrounded by a wasteland. I was still not really following him until he asked me if I remembered the Mad Max movies years ago. Of course I remembered those movies. They were great movies.

Needless to say, I sat in a recliner in front of his TV and watched him play that game for about 3 hours straight. It was intriguing enough to watch but I felt it was a game that was better to actually play.

So what does that have to do with this hub?

When I got home I started feeling a little nostalgic for the old days. So I looked at my old VHS movie collection and checked to see if I still had the old Mel Gibson movie, MAD MAX.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, funny how things get lost during a lifetime. However I did find it as an on demand video on amazon. It was only a few bucks and I didn't have to goto the local video rental. As I watched it, memories of where I was the first time I watched it came flooding back. I don't know what I enjoyed more, the movie or my personal memories.

Have you ever watched MAD MAX? If not I suggest you do, that is if you like sci-fi old style movies.

Since I watched Mad Max, I found myself watching more 1980's post apocalypse genre.

 My craving for more 80's sci-fi movies  still hasn't been cured. I am still looking for more movies to watch.  If you know of one or more, please let me know in the comments.

It's like an addiction lol I need more 80's post apocalypse movies.
