About The Eurovision Song Contest 2015

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest was staged in Vienna, Austria following the victory by Austrian drag queen Conchita Wurst with the song Rise Like A Phoenix at the 59th Contest in Copenhagen.

39 countries across Europe confirmed their participation at the 2015 competition - along with Australia which was invited to compete in this 60th edition - (Ukraine having withdrawn, while Cyprus, The Czech Republic and Serbia all returned).

The semifinals took place on May 19 and 21, while the grand final was presented on the evening of May 23.

Here is the information about the 2015 Contest.

Why was the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 staged in Vienna?

Under the rules of the European Broadcasting Union, the winning nation from the previous year hosts the current year's contest.

In 2014, Conchita Wurst won the Contest with the song Rise Like A Phoenix and thus the competition came to Austria in 2015.

Here is a reminder of the winning song from 2014.

Download the Songs in the UK

If you're looking for a comprehensive collection of all of the songs at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, then this is the album for you.

All forty entries from the participating countries are here. including special invitees Australia, which was represented by star singer, Guy Sebastian.

As is traditional with Eurovision, the album contains an eclectic mix of tracks, some very good and some a little more bizarre.

However, I think 2015 will be remembered for its party atmosphere, a plethora of ballads and Sweden winning its sixth title!

Available in both CD and download formats.
