2016 Obama’s America

Updated on March 25, 2013

Documentary-2016 Obama's America

The film 2016 Obama’s America is written and produced by Dinesh D’Souza. The documentary is based on D’Souza’s book The Roots of Obama’s Rage (2010). Gerald R. Molen, producer of Schindler’s List, is co-producer of the movie.

There are similarities between Dinesh D’Souza and Barack Obama. D’Souza was born in India in 1961 and came to the United States in 1978. He graduated Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He lived with his mother and stepfather in Indonesia where he attended school. Obama then moved to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Obama also graduated Ivy League Schools, Columbia and Harvard.

In the documentary, D’Souza compares his positive view of America, as a land of opportunity, to Obama’s vision of America as an oppressive, colonial empire.

For many decades, India was part of the British Empire. India became an independent nation on August 15, 1948. Kenya, the birthplace of Obama’s father, was also a British colony. Kenya gained its independence on December 12, 1963. Another British colony was The United States of America. The USA declared its independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776.

D’Souza’s film hypothesis’s that President Obama is a child of the radical left. Obama’s vision for America derives from his father’s socialistic, anti-colonial heritage. D’Souza notes that when Obama became president, he immediately sent a bust of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill back to England.

D’Souza documents Obama’s family history through Hawaii, Indonesia, Kenya and Chicago. There are interviews with friends of Obama’s father. In Kenya, D’Souza speaks with George Obama, the younger half brother of the president. George Obama said his father died when he was six months old therefore his father’s political points of view had no effect on him.

D’Souza reviews Obama’s far left radical associations with Frank Marshall Davis, William Ayers, and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. But we have to understand that the far left did not elect Barack Obama president. A majority of Americans voted for Obama and he is the president. As commander in chief, Barak Obama fulfills his primary duty to protect the United States from both foreign and domestic enemies.

The part of D’Souza’s documentary that concerns most Americans is the outrageous spending by both Democrat and Republican Administrations in Washington D.C. The USA has a national debt of $15 trillion that will increase to $20 trillion over the next four years.

In eight years there will be no money for Medicare. By Congressional legislation the Federal Government has seized 17% of the United States economy through the Affordable Care Act. The recent Supreme Court decision regarding the Affordable Care Act explicitly confirms Congress has legal authority to tax citizens. Does this mean Congress and the President can tax 100% of American’s income and redistribute money anyway they wish?

Instead of bringing people together as he promised in 2008, President Obama has split the voters down the middle. The national media divides the country farther apart with invective rhetoric by Chris Matthews on the left and Sean Hannity on the right. The only moderate voice in the media is Bill O’Reilly. Only Bill, alias Carnac the Magnificent, allows both sides to vent political ideology.

If the two political parties refuse to work together and develop concrete solutions to solve real problems the economic situation will drastically decline over the next four years. A devastating bankruptcy of the United States will occur and chaos will reign throughout the world.

Yes, Obama is trying to parody the rest of the world with the United States.

What a joke. Ronald Reagan was elected with far fewer qualifications, and several events in his governorship that, in today's political environment, would make him patently UN-electable.

But why do I post back? It's like talking to posts stuck in the mud topped with parrots.

White guilt is the main reason Obama got elected, no white president could ever have gotten reelected with Obama's record.

Obama's has been deceptive at not revealing his true beliefs and the mainstream media has provided cover for him. Although he may like aspects of America, his view is opposite to what the founders envisioned.

It's true that his agenda includes downsizing America both globally and domestically so that it is in a rough parody with the rest of the world. He believes this is good for America and the world but I suspect the vast majority of Americans would beg to differ.

      Good job, nice Hub!

He may have been elected by the cross-section of Democrat and Independent voters but he is still a pony out of the far liberal left stalls. Most folks who voted for him did so on false promises which have never materialized....but still continue to be made referenciing the slogan "forward" and "keeping our eyes on that distant horizon"....notice, this time around the time element has been removed. America does not have four years in left for this man...we'll be finished by then if we continue on his chosen path. Our population is far too ignorant of socialism and/or communism to see where this man stands and where he is headed. We must have change if we are to save the nation. BTW...I thought the movie was excellent. Every voter should see it...it is the first realin vetting of Obama and it will certainly make you think about what you are doing with your vote in November. ~WB

Now why do you think the government would tax its citizens 100%? They are already allowed to and have taxed citizens for years. I agree that our country is split right down the middle and I think the media has created much of the harm.

Good hub and you've raised many issues to think about.

The mainstream media completely supports Obama 80% of the time. Sean Hannity and (at times) Bill O'Reilly are more balanced. It appears that Hannity is polarizing because he is a conservative. The mainstream media will bash conservatives just because they are conservative, and will usually lie about their beliefs. (ex: Romney wants to cut medicare). Hannity's program is based upon collecting the facts and presenting them to the American people. Hannity even criticized president Bush when he disagreed with his policies. (ex: the first stimulus). No such disagreement occurs between most of the mainstream media and Obama's corruption. As a matter of fact the mainstream media will hide anything embarrassing to the Obama administration.

Do you hope that "many will watch this" because you watched it and were stunned by its insight and accuracy, or merely because it is anti-Obama?
