My 5 most wanted vinyl records

Introducing My 5 Most Desired Vinyl Album
There are many ways to express your enthusiasm for your favorite music. I have two of them: drawing my fave musicians and collecting their albums on vinyl. It could be an expensive hobby but with some luck anybody can gather a nice collection of their favorite bands without putting the budget of their family to the venture.
I'd like to introduce my 5 most desired vinyl album. Not all of them are rare, but very difficult to find a good quality one which worth playing on the turntable.
Revival of Vinyl Records
It's not a thing of the past. Have you ever heard a vinyl through even an average speaker? I'm sure you will throw away your mp3 player! There isn't anything that sounds better. And there isn't anything like flipping through the beautiful covers at a record shop or an antique fair.
Analog recording is the physical representation of the sound waves in their natural form. It recreates every nuance that even the ear doesn't hear, making vinyl a more accurate sound. It loses a wide range of frequencies when analog signal is captured digitally on a CD.

Which one do you prefer?
Diamond stylus in groove of LP record - Scanning electron micrograph image

Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the surface of a long-playing record (L.P.), showing a spherical diamond stylus sitting in one of the concentric grooves. The L.P. is made by pressing the recording information onto a softened (heated) PVC disc. The stylus sits nicely in the V-shaped groove, and lateral vibrations are picked up by the stylus as the record rotates: these are transduced by a moving-coil or moving- magnet cartridge into an electrical signal, which passes through an amplifier to be heard on loudspeakers. Magnification: X 250 at 35mm size, X 1760 at 8x10-inch size.

1. Pink Floyd - Animals
UK First Pressing or Garrod & Lofthouse edition
This is the only Pink Floyd album which I don't own in LP format. This is my most favorite album of the band. It presents a marked change in musical style from their earlier work. The album was released to generally positive reviews but it has much less success than the previous album, The Dark Side of The Moon.
It's concept based on George Orwell's Animal Farm. The album is a critique of capitalism and differs again in that the sheep eventually rise up to overpower the dogs.
It still seems underrated, although its critique of capitalism and in-your-face songs seem more prescient by the day.
The brief story of the cover
Interview with Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters
... He (Storm Thorgerson, graphis artist) wasn't used for any Pink Floyd artwork while I was involved after 'Wish You Were Here' and I have to say I love that sleeve. They (Thorgerson's company, Hipgnosis) came up with a load of ideas for 'Animals', none of which I liked, and I don't think the rest of the boys thought they were that brilliant either. And there was a feeling of, "well, if you don't like it, do something better."
So I peddled round South London on my bicycle with my camera and took some photos of Battersea Power Station and then I got somebody to make a pig and got a mock up and said, "There's my idea." ...

2. Livin' Blues - Live '75 LP
Pseudonym (Dutch) or Ariola (German) pressing
This album is a true rarity. It's very difficut to find original Dutch pressing even the German issues. There are a lot of Polish pressings in the marketplace, but their quality are beneath all criticism.
Although best known in the Netherlands, Livin' Blues also gained a following elsewhere in Europe, especially in Poland. The band is founded by Ted Oberg and existing since 1967 in various formations. Their best known album is Blue Breeze.
"What we can tell you, though, is that if you fancy yourself as a music lover, you haven't earned your stripes if you don't have a copy of "Blue Breeze" in your collection." Dinosaurdays
This live album includes Black Spider Woman which is my all time fav blues rock song.

4. Tina Turner - Whatever You Want
Maxi single
This outstanding song was written for the album Wildest Dreams, which also includes Golden Eye. It's noted for its different levels of energy and strong vocal performance, its orchestral arrangement and complex production. In my humble opinion this is Tina's best song, unfortunately less known than it'd deserve. (check video below!)
The promo 12" singles included club mixes of "Whatever You Want" by renowned remix producers Todd Terry and Arthur Baker. All copies landed at DJs, so it's very hard to find this edition in good condition.

5. Pink Floyd - P.U.L.S.E. Box Set - The Monster

P.U.L.S.E. is a live double album with all the great Pink Floyd hits on 25-track 4LP in four separate picture sleeves with innerbags, 48-page hardback 12x12inch book, all housed in a deluxe hardback slipcase. It was recorded during the band's Division Bell Tour in 1994. The tour was sponsored in Europe by Volkswagen, which also issued a commemorative version of its top-selling car, the "Golf Pink Floyd", one of which was given as a prize at each concert. It was a standard Golf with Pink Floyd decals and a premium stereo, and had Volkswagen's most environmentally friendly engine, at Gilmour's insistence.
The most wanted Pink Floyd LP issue. It has horror price, depending on it's state the value between 200 and 600 USD.
What could I say? This gem is expensive, rare and beautiful, who wouldn't want to get it? :)

Guestbook Comments
I have 11 Pink Floyd albums (including Animals) and they look like they haven't been played, or at least not hardly at all. Don't have a turn-table (sad for me) so am selling. goldencharity@gmail.com
