Top 10 Samples in Hip-Hop History ~ Part 32 - 36

Updated on July 14, 2015

I have done quite a lot of samples since I last hubbed so let's play a little catch-up, shall we?  Submitted for your approval, my last five episodes of Top 10 Samples in History.

I would like to invite you to spend an hour with me in a classroom environment talking about how soul, funk, jazz, reggae and even rock-n-roll helped shape the most organic artform of my lifetime.....hip-hop sampling.   Have you ever made a collage out of pictures you found in a magazine?   It is exactly the same concept.  Some people might say why sample using technology when you can make your own music?   To them I say, what about a photographer?   He COULD always paint the picture on a canvas and not use technology to capture a moment but why would he when he can just click.

Props to you again. You blow my mind every time. Erma Franklin also used Young Holt Unlimited's instrumental in her rendition of The Doors Light My Fire (which you probably already know). Just having fun recognizing the samples. I just found out about Meth using Herb Albert's Treasure of San Miguel a couple months ago. It's great discovering this stuff. Much respect & props 2u man.

What's up with Janko Nilovic - "In The Space" for Jay-Z's D.O.A. or "Supra Pop Impressions" for The Beatnuts Contact. Or How about The Invitations "Written On The Wall" for De La Soul's Plug Tunin' or Maggie Thrett's "Soupy" for Jenifa Taught Me.

There a lot of samples people are still trying to un-earth!!! I have a ton that you still haven't done and a ton more I need to find out. Your show is cool from one SAMPLE JUNKIE to another!!! Hit me up maybe we can share and trade some info.

Denmark is big on the hip-hop tip, remember "Down for whatever" by Cube, that was produced by the Danish group Madness 4 Real, they also did some Eazy and i think they also produced something for Pac, after they finished up in LA, they started they're making music in Denmark, they produced a lot of Danish and European stuff.
