70's Classic Rock Music Hits
Classic Rock Bands Of The 70's
The 70's was a decade that had a large influence on me . Mostly because I was a pre-teen and music was a big part of my life. Listening to the radio and playing records is what shaped my love for music. 70's Rock Bands like Styx, Journey, Boston, Kansas, America,The Eagles, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac just to name a few. Here is a list of music from the 70's bands I could think of. Tell me your favorites too!
70's Rock Music
My memories of the 70's
The 70's was a time when rock music and "Bell Bottom Jeans" where the rage!! I loved music, television and just hanging out in the neighborhood with my friends. Do you remember any of these wonderful bands? For me, this decade brings back many memories. A funny story about me in the 70's was, I used to wear patchwork bell bottom jeans, Indian beaded jewelry (Indian beaded jewelry was very popular in the 70's), wore cherry flavored lip gloss and I feathered my hair. LOL. Remember that?
If you are reading this and you don't know what feathered hair is take a look at Farah Fawcett from the 70's . Google her... I will wait... Okay. Every girl on Earth wanted to be her or at least have her hair. Anyway, back to the music. I lived in the Midwest at the time and I loved watching television, playing records (real vinyl records) and playing games outside with my friends.
When I wasn't outside playing with my friends, I would listen to my favorite records for hours and sing along. That's how I learned how to sing, from bands like Boston, ELO, Journey, Rush, Abba, Bee Gees and many more. Those were the great rock bands that shaped our rock music sounds today.
Take a stroll down memory lane, and have fun listening to all of the music videos I have put together. These were my favorite rock bands of the 70's. If you have any favorites, tell me what you like. I would love to hear what you liked.

70's Rock Music Poll
Who was your favorite band in the seventies?
Make A Comment :) - Who was your favorite?
It seems that the best rock music happened in the 70's..
since then there was nothing good in rock music, actually rock music is dead.
these new era rock bands are more into pop than into rock music.
so just sit back and enjoy bands like led zepelin and pink floyd instead of bul**** we have these days.
A great lens. I may have been born at the end of the decade, but I still love many of the songs from the era. Thank you for sharing this lens with us.
Great lens! Fleetwood Mac is my favorite. I went to see Stevie Nicks in concert for my 21st birthday! It was awesome. Thanks for the music memories.
Thanks for the interesting lens. My favorite band is Led Zeppelin.
Thank you very much for this nice lens. I did not live in the 70's, but I think it was a great time with great music. I really like Led Zeppelin.
Nice lens. It brings back memories of being a teen in the seventies.
I was born in 1978 but this is my favorite music even today. I have albums by all of the bands listed. Love this music!
From the list above it would have to be Styx.
You really should check out Player known for Baby Come Back, they have that unique blue eyed soul sound with a new CD out next month that is sure to please anyone who loved Baby Come Back and that sound from the 70s
Hard to believe some of this is considered classic rock :)
Styx is definitely my favorite from the 70's, then Rush. However, I do believe "Bee Gees Rock songs" is an oxymoron. Lol. Thanks so much for the lens.
Great lens! I had the ELO record, didn't appreciate them as much then as I do now. Ballroom Blitz by Sweet is still one of my all time favs =)
Thanks for the trip down the musical memory lane, nice set of albums.
Nice lens!
Hey, I think your text box above this one may be broken. I just tried to type something in there, and it only let me put in 70 characters, when it should allow up to 1,000. :)
I was not a fan of the rock of the 70s but I simply loved ABBA. I am a huge fan of them. Great lens.
I found some super information on your lens, which will help me.
Thank you 4 visit my...
We loved the Bee Gees and still do!
Late 60's to 70's was the best time in music EVER!!! Great memories here.
The Doors! While I suppose they were mostly a 60's band, they at least survived long enough to kick off the 70's with their last album.
Well-done lens on a time with lots of changes and innovations.
I love the 70's more than any other era I can remember. This lens is a great reminder of my days riding around on my go kart piecing life together. Nice work!
very cool lens! I love theses bands! but abba is classic :)
Great lens, i'm not "coming" from 70's actually,,
but i think, the music in that era are great..
:)
Nice Lens, was looking for the "I'll Be There" video ..
Is there a limit to what can be called 70's rock? Seem not much was out in the beginning of the decade, and some went into later years.
Maybe a profanity but my favourite is Deep Purple (http://www.squidoo.com/deep-purple-rock-band), but my second most loved band is Led Zeppelin. :)
love led zeppelin...
led zepp!
I really love these songs!
Great Lens . What is interesting is that almost all of these bans and artists almost without exception where influenced by the Blues artists of the 30,s
Rock music has changed so much and nobody would say now that what was rock music then is rock music at all...
love the lens,love the 70's. :)
I share a lot of the same favorites
70's is the golden era of rock music, there are so many good musicians and good song
who doesn't love classic rock!
Excellent lens. Takes you back.
Great fun!
I really like Styx's "Renegade". There are a lot of songs from my dad's CDs that I have loaded to my IPod.
I went with Journey ... glad I browsed into your lens! If you like to browse lens too, mine has a great educational topic with poll questions for my readers to enjoy.
Looking back, I was a young kid then, I enjoyed Abba and the Bee Gees the most. Now, while I still like them, I also some of the others, that were just too old for me then. Great lens, good job.
I've been rediscovering 70s music lately. My favorite is the 90s but music today is SO bad that I've been going back and finding tunes from the 70s I like. Fleetwood Mac has caught my attention lately. Great lens!
Oh, you took me back. When I was 11 years old, the first album I owned was Rumors by Fleetwood Mac - I still love hearing every song on it.
What wonderfully great memories of some of my favorite music, it was an excellent era!
I was born in the mid 70's so 70's rock "should" be before my time, but it's definitely my favorite! Led Zeppelin (Going to California, Battle of Evermore, etc) and Fleetwood Mac (Big Love, Rhiannon, Tusk, etc) start off my day right.
some of them are my fav.
Oh yes... I remember all of this. Does that make me a Golden Oldie?? ;-) Love this music... the soundtrack of my coming of age. Thanks for the memories.
Cool Lens, I was looking for music lenses (doing a quest) yeah I know, lame - but I am bored :-)
Was just looking up some music lenses and found yours. I was born in '72 but so much of this music reminds me of my childhood. Great lens.
I still love listening to all these bands. Nicely done lens.
Great lens!
If I had to choose, Led Zeppelin probably is my favorite... But there's so many great bands to choose from it's impossible to choose just one
I like Led Zep,Lynyrd Skynrd etc, but I think Elton and Abba are more pop in my eyes.Very good lens.
I love Lynyrd Skynyrd. But I didn't listen to them during the 70's! Wasn't born yet!
LED ZEPPELIN, RUSH, ELP, STTYX,,,I LOVE CLASSIC ROCK AND MUSIC VERY MUCH! AND MUSIC IS MY PASSION!!

Wow, this lens sure does bring back memories! I liked some songs from Kiss, but Abba was one of my favorite groups. I was also a big Barry Manilow fan. Oh well, I could go on and on, but I won't. Great lens though!

The album I would STILL take to a desert island? Bat Out Of Hell!!! Good lens, thanks for the memories!
