Cheeky Kid has been watching anime and reading manga for as long as he can remember. Doing so takes him to different worlds.

Popular Anime of the 90's that People Love to Remember

If you were a kid who experienced the times of the 90s anime, you probably know how awesome those times were. Especially because it was the time when anime was starting to climb its path to fame.

There were many awesome things to remember that time...and particularly, one of these was anime or some would call 90's cartoons. Remember those anime shows that ran everyday on T.V. episode by episode? Those anime timeslots that were meant to be watched when kids were probably at home like after school, Saturday mornings, and the hour before sleep-time? How about those classic anime series you've never wanted to miss because they only ran once a day, every weekdays or weekends until they end.

If you've experienced these 90's anime watcher scenarios, then you probably had an awesome childhood. Sooo...awesome and cool that nowadays, you just can't help but try to remember and reminisce the oldie but famous anime shows you enjoyed and loved.

With that said, I've put across some of the top anime of the 90s here for you to remember and maybe...relive?! You are on to an adventure that will take you back and bring the memories of the past anime shows that made your precious childhood fun.

Mojacko is that orange fluffy alien critter who seems to always cause some trouble in his wacky mishaps and adventures. Along with Sorao, Miki, and the gang, Mojacko lives the days in fun-filled mischievous ways as well as try to go back to his home planet.

I remember watching this anime back in the 90's and it was really entertaining as well as funny. It's nice how there's some sort of mischief in the show then eventually turns to good lesson. That's how it was along some other anime that came with it or after it like Doraemon.

Doraemon is a cat robot from the future sent to make Nobita mend his wimpy ways of life and instead become a winner in life for the future.

Who doesn't know doraemon? From then till now, he's still everywhere. Maybe it's a proof the show's success. Doraemon's entertainment factor along with its good morals is definitely top-class.

Any kid of the 90's surely knows the first season of Pokémon. Well, it was also the decade were the Pokémon games became popular as well. With that, the anime series increased in fame as well.

I don't know for the Pokémon anime series nowadays (doesn't look as cool to me) but...the first season was truly the best one. Don't you agree?

Well, well, for now...with the anime aside, I'd love to recommend to you the Pokémon Adventures a.k.a. Pokémon Special (PokeSpe). Trust me, it's a great read for a manga and has a plot and characterization way better than the anime.

Digimon

I remember this show going at the same timeslot as Pokémon and boy did I had the need to watch two channels at the same time. Okay, not at same time but I had to change the channels every now and then. I didn't want to miss both Pokémon and Digimon.

Digimon was awesome too since it had its unique story line and characters. In this one, the characters were digital monsters that lives in the digiworld. Hence, the term digimon.

This show made me want to be one of the chosen children so that I can go to the digiworld and have my own powerful digimon. Well, who wouldn't want one?

Woah! It took me quite a very long time to remember this anime. I've always thought of this anime at the back of my head but for some reason I can't remember the title nor the characters...just the general storyline.

Then, I saw its credits somewhere and alas, I remembered it...the title was still not familiar to me though, just the characters.

The Twelve Warrior Explosive Eto Rangers basically revolves with the theme of Chinese Zodiac and adventure.

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon is one of the classic anime that started the shoujo magical girl genre. This is obvious since the characters in the series are mostly girls plus the addition of some bishounen characters. Nonetheless, with all the girly things aside, Sailor Moon is also about the fight and battle for justice and love as well as saving the world from evil.

Well, as I am a boy, I never really got hooked with this anime...as for me that is, don't know for others. I do think though that girls really loved this anime being a classic shoujo anime (anime targeted to girls) and all.

Altogether, let's shout...LET'S VOLT IN! VOLTES FIIIVE!!!

This epic anime instantly became a craze in the 90's because of its cool storyline and awesometastic cliché. Along with the other shows like power rangers and other sentai shows, Voltes V made a big rise for its genre.

Oh, and did I say there were robots and transformations?! Cool!

Daimos

I think this was shown after the ending or finale of Voltez V. And Yes, Daimos was also a classic anime that made all the ruckus in the world.

Daimos isn't just any robot anime for it also featured love and romance. Now, it was not only the boys that got hooked with this anime but also the girls as well.

Robots+Love Story+Explosions = Epic!

I don't remember much about the story but, I know that Crayon Shin-chan was all about laughs and nonsense.

Crayon Shin-chan is a very mischievous as well as curious kid that always talks about simple things that adults are embarrassed to answer...just imagine that. Even Shin-chan's curiousness often leads him to a lot of mishaps and epic moments.

Crayon Shin-chan is just so funny that even today, it still is showing and kicking in the anime world.

Ka-me-ha-me-ha!

Boom! Featuring the strongest anime character in the universe who doesn't also seem to die (with the help of the dragon balls, of course)...SON GOKU of Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball is about the story of Goku from his childhood up to the time where he is already the strongest person the universe. Goku and Z warriors always are into battles but comedy doesn't fail to blend in as well. Saving the world is part of the theme and Dragon Ball has all the action you need.

Dragon Ball is one of the most popular anime created ever. Just so you know, today they made a remake called Dragon Ball Kai with upgraded graphics so the new generation could enjoy it as well.

Love, Courage, and Hope! These are the words you should have heard whenever Cha Cha would transform into the magical guardian Holy-up. With all the fight for goodness going on it was good that this anime also explored the daily child life of Cha Cha and her best friends Riiya and Shiine.

Akazukin Cha Cha was a good break from all the seriousness since it was light and funny. The concept was also based on Little Red Riding Hood then added some magic, school, and adventure. Poof! It began, the story of Akazukin Cha Cha.

Flame of Recca was one of the anime people really loved. There are ninjas, dragons, powerful weapons, action, and a lot more to enjoy in this series. Sadly, the anime wasn't completed...but, you could read its equally awesome manga if you want.

Many kids really liked this anime as well as teens and older people. I just hope that make a remake of this one-of-a-kind anime in the near future.

Gosh, I completely forgotten about Digimon, no thanks to Pokemon's continued dominance.

Doraemon is good for any generation.
