Photos of Roses and Rose Gardens
It stands to reason that if I love flowers, and love gardens, that I would love rose gardens. So its no secret that I absolutely love rose gardens. They bring to mind the memory of wonderful times in my past and into my childhood, where I was always around people that loved roses and gardens.
My father grew his own beautiful rose garden along our backyard fence. He tended them with care. We would cut little bouquets of various colors, to take to his parents grave. We also toured rose gardens in Southern California, and my grandparents on my mother's side grew them as well.
Here is a sampling of some rose photos and gardens that I have taken over the last couple of years. I hope you enjoy!
Rose Photos
Photo 1 - This is an elaborate gated entry to a rose garden at Saint Louis Botanical Gardens in Missouri. There is a colorful display of Dale Chihuly Glass sculptures here as well. That fence houses many climbing rose bushes that bloom in the summer time. I could only dream of having a rose garden like this!
Photo 2 - Not much tops a single red rose, except for the occasional single bright yellow rose. I love this rose, it seems almost perfect. It emanates sunshine to me. I would be gladdened by a dozen of these as much as any dozen red roses I think!
Photo 3 - The beautiful pink rose here, is truly at a perfect blossoming point. This is my opinion of course, but the curves and how the petals are opening up is just truly beautiful to me. Very elegant and lovely.
Photo 4 - Bright and coral colored, this rose is sure to make an extra splash of color in any garden you find it in. I think its so lovely! I imagine this would be great near a blue rose or a purple rose. The colors would compliment so well I think and really "pop."
Photo 5 - A rose garden, with tall trees as a backdrop. This garden has many different colored roses, but the ones that stand out most from this view to me are the red ones.
Photo 6 - A pink rose garden. I love how this looks, and it is just so lovely to walk along in a rose garden like this.
Photo 7 - A bright pink rose bloom and bud behind it. While this variety of rose doesn't have many petals, it has a lot of color. I absolutely love this bright pink rose and bud.
Photo 8 - At the Missouri Botanical Garden, one can see the Linnean House Conservatory. This is one view of it, showing some of the rose garden in front. I haven't grown my own roses yet in the Midwest, other than a climbing red rose bush. I miss California very much in this regard. I am encouraged to see though, that they indeed can be grown well by at least master gardeners.
