Meisa Kuroki's Pregnancy and Birth of Her Daughter

And guess what guys? Meisa Kuroki was pregnant! It was not until April 15th 2012 that the singer announced that she is four months pregnant. Kuroki finally broke her silence about the pregnancy stating that:

After I became pregnant, I was frequently in bad health. It was my first time experiencing this, so I was a little uneasy.” Source: Tokyohive.

She explained that she was advised by her doctors to wait until her body was more stable before she announced the news. She was due to give birth in October 2012. Kuroki was scheduled to star in a play called Miyazawa Kenji ga Tsutaeru Koto at Setagaya Public Theater on May 12-13. After the conclusion of the play, Kuroki said that she would go on maternity leave and return to work shortly after the birth of her child. I wish Meisa Kuroki the very best and congratulate her on this exciting event in her life.

Introduction to the Drama Yae no Sakura

At a press conference on May 30th 2012 Kuroki was seen with her stomach sticking out! Showing her pregnant figure, she announced that she will be playing in a drama called Yae No Sakura. In the drama, Kuroki would co-star with Japanese actress Haruka Ayase. The filming of the drama was set to start that summer but Kuroki would not join the cast until she had given birth. This move was being made to avoid any complications that may delay the filming of this drama. Yae No Sakura was expected to be officially released in January 2013. It is a 50 episode drama that would last the whole year. Back in May 2012, there was a press conference that had been held for this drama.

What is the Drama Yae no Sakura About?

Kuroki played the role of Takeko Nakano who is a swordswoman who is very skilled at wielding the long sword. She is also the assistant trainer at a swordplay school. The drama takes place during the time of the Boshin War. Once that war begins, this woman returns to Aizu with the stated goal of teaching wives of samurai warriors how to use the long sword. Kuroki made a statement or shall we say discussed the symbolism and values that the drama tries to instill in human nature. Kuroki said that there were four specific values that the drama could teach to people. They are:

  1. Power of life
  2. Bond between people
  3. Importance of protecting something
  4. Courage

These values are very important and especially the power of life. Life is always better than death and it is a time where people should use that power wisely as it is limited. People should also bond together to create a world where it works well for everyone ideally.

Meisa Kuroki Meets Bradley Cooper!

Just four months after giving birth to her daughter, Kuroki was seen at an event for the movie Silver Linings Playbook. She was seen with actor Bradley Cooper who was nominated for an Oscar. She handed him a bouquet of flowers!

Meisa Kuroki, Jin Akanishi and the Birth of Their Second Child

But the birth of her first daughter in September 2012 was not enough for Kuroki and her husband who is singer Jin Akanishi whom she married in February 2012. It would be in November 2016 that she would announce that she was pregnant with her then second child. Akanishi himself went on Twitter and just briefly mentioned that he wanted to be the one to let the world know about his wife’s pregnancy but he said that he was beat to the job. Kuroki was asked during a press conference for her starring drama Designer Baby if she and Jin were planning on having more children. Kuroki acknowledged that if the timing was at the right stage that she absolutely would have more children. In June 2017, Kuroki and Akanishi welcomed their second child, a boy.
