A Review of the Album "Casualties of Causality" by Finnish Thrash Metal Band Maniac Abductor
About the Band Maniac Abductor and the Vocal Style
Maniac Abductor is a very heavy thrash metal band from the city of Joensuu in Finland which gets very harsh, cold, and long winters. As we are in another new calendar month in the year 2019, Maniac Abductor is at least the second new Finnish thrash metal band I have discovered this year other than Brainthrash. Maniac Abductor has not been around for very long, having been only around since 2013. The vocals for this band compared to Brainthrash are a bit on the rougher side.
Casualties of Causality How Does It Begin?
This album begins with the song "Fooled Again" and at the first listen some of you might wonder what is going on as this is supposed to be a thrash metal album. That’s what it is but this is not like the hardcore vocals of St. Hood and the music is a bit more varied. The song is basically a sort of lyrical rebellion against the established social norms of society as the materialism and dog eat dog kind of society is leading to all kinds of social problems. The beginning of this song yet again shows the musical brilliance of Finnish musicians. The song also says that we the people won’t be fooled by the politicians’ objective of money, oil, and power.
Casualties of Causality Review Continued
“Watery Tomb” starts with the sound of footsteps in the water along with the sound of birds chirping. The band asks a great question in the first song? What are we dying for? It seems that people in various countries die for the greed of political leaders. It is no wonder that establishment politicians are not looked at favorably. First World Disease is a song that is about some affliction that has the power to bring the world to its knees. Evil Brotherhood has a terrific melodic opening as the song turns into a nice mid-tempo thrasher. But then the song speeds up, stops, and then speeds up. The song also says that because of discrimination, people are under attack. We must take back the power that is within us to create better nations and a better world to live in. Destroyer of Worlds describes a force that fights back against all resistance. “No Hope For You” in spite of its lyrical content, provides a good groove for this Finnish band. It seems like the world is spiraling out of control but in reality sometimes it is about how we perceive the world to be. “Hatebound” is melodic as heck with its riffing and by this point in time, metal fans should not be surprised by the talent of Finnish thrash bands especially.

Final Thoughts About the Album Casualties of Causality
"Thrash Assault" lyrically is pretty self-explanatory as this is what happens during a very heavy concert. Casualties of Causality is a darn good groovy thrash metal release that is very entertaining but is it better than Brainthrash? That is a tough call.
