A sexy holiday photo shoot is just what the tittle implies; a photo shoot with a holiday theme in an adult oriented atmosphere. This topic has been done many times over and for quite a number of years. The theme is geared towards couples, or friends all gathered together during the holidays.

Celebrating a specific holiday like Christmas is a perfect setting and there is nothing wrong with doing it while adding a little adult fun to the event. Off course couples only or singles makes it even better and the resulting images can add topics for conversation and add to the many memories that are the result of any holiday celebration.

A good example would be to record images of one member a top a ladder while hanging Christmas ornament on a Christmas tree or the couple cuddling together next to a roaring fireplace or even exchanging gifts under the Christmas tree. The possibilities are many, all it takes is a little imagination and some sexy holiday themed clothing. There are quite a number of adult stores and others who carry these types of clothing around each holiday.

For sexy lingerie there are many shops that carry many items that can be used while conducting the project, however most are not oriented to any specific holiday but rather towards use any day of the year.

However, keep in mind that the project does not involve nudity per say, or photographing intimate situations or acts. It should be looked at from the standpoint of having fun during a holiday celebration in the comfort of your home, and no children allowed here either. This is for adults.

Once you have selected how and when the shoot will occur, then select those costumes or clothing that you will use for the shoot. A good place to start is to do some research on the net to gather ideas. How risque you go is entirely up to you, but remember that these images are meant to share with your closest friends or just for you and your partner alone.

It all boils down to your personal preferences. If you have decided that the event or rather the photo shoot will be done in a party atmosphere with some of your friends, then the level of risque should be toned down so as not to offend anyone; in other words, do not go overboard. Add some playfulness to the scene by concocting some holiday games and again, many of the adult stores can help you with this as well.

Use your imagination!

Costumes and games make it exciting. How about a videogame where clothing is shed by losers, or winners???

Just like there are celebrations that are adult oriented such as some Halloween parties, almost any holiday celebration can be done in this way.

Among the things to consider is who is going to play the role of photographer. Although with today's cameras almost anyone can take decent enough photographs, this should be done by someone with photographic knowledge. Generally one lens is all that you will need and the standard 55mm one does just fine.

To soften the light on the camera mounted flash unit, place a cotton handkerchief on the flash front element. This will diffuse the light enough to prevent flash hot spots.

Also try not to pose those involved too much since natural looking photos are usually the result of taking them while the subject is unaware of being photographed.

But if you decide that you will take this opportunity to make it a photo shoot meant to be submitted to stock houses, greeting cards and the the poster industry, then the use of models is almost a necessity, since they will have to be people who are used to being photographed and mostly very attractive as well as being physically fit, and that's why I am a photographer instead of a model.

This is a topic that has been covered for a long time thus it's nothing new and the images must not only be technically perfect, but the models also have to be very attractive plus the entire project must be done in good taste. The majority of photographic commercial buyers are always looking to refresh their stock of images thus offering savvy photographers an opportunity of selling their products.

Plan it as you would any other photographic project of consequence, research and gather ideas of what it is you want your images to show and give yourself plenty of time for the shoot as some images will have to be re shot several times until they are to your satisfaction.

Be judicious with your images always keeping in mind our target audience. Too much and they will turn away, too little and they will not be interested. Using poses and techniques that can be shown by the mediums to which you intent to submit or present your work is always a good idea and keeping their interest in mind is a sound approach.

Be open for opportunistic shots. There are many bars and pubs or clubs that hold holiday sexy parties every year. These can also present opportunities to record some images but subjects have to be asked for permission as well as the establishment and if planning in selling the images this has to be divulged to those involved as well.

However, be your own worst critic and discard any image that is not perfect. Commercial buyers will expect nothing less than perfection from you and you should not expect any less from yourself either.

Some nice pictures there Luis, they sure are getting me into the xmas spirit. :)

I will try your idea and photograph the missus in skimpy clothing reaching to put some ornaments up.

I've always been more into filming than photographing and I was far more inventive when I was younger, loved editing my home movies and adding silly things to them.

255 hubs in 10 months, that's a lot more than I've managed. Well done.

      Voted up and interesting.
