Actresses Who Everyone Loves

Updated on October 17, 2014

Emma Stone

I'm going to borrow a line from her film Crazy, Stupid, Love. Emma Stone is "the perfect combination of sexy and cute." In her roles, she is versatile. She can do drama. She can do comedy. She can do sexy. She can do goofy. And the ultimate likeability factor is a sense of humor and comedic timing. She has both. From Superbad and Easy A to The Help and Birdman, Emma Stone is nothing less than spectacular. And if she's not already likable enough, she and her beau Andrew Garfield use the paparazzi to promote their charities of choice.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence is the current "America's Sweetheart" and the ultimate "cool girl." She likes food and readily admits it. She never takes herself too seriously, as evidenced by her trips on the red carpet and her celebratory shots after an Oscar win. Plus, she's a fantastic actress. From Winter's Bone to Silver Linings Playbook to X-Men, she transitions from indie dramas to romantic comedies to action roles with perfect ease. Even with the recent hacking and leaking of nude celebrity photos, J. Law's image and reputation has not suffered. She refused to apologize for the private pictures that became public. Instead, she turned the tables on the hackers and anyone who chose to view the pictures. She called the photo hacking what is was: a sex crime. So often in Hollywood, women need to exploit themselves to get ahead in a male dominated business and a male dominated society, but Jennifer Lawrence exemplifies what it means to be a confident, strong female who refuses to compromise who she is.

Natalie Portman

Discovered at the age of 11, Natalie Portman made her acting debut in Leon: The Professional, and she's been around ever since. Setting aside the horrid dialogue in Star Wars: Episodes 1-3, she is yet another example of an actress who can showcase her talents in all genres. From Closer to V for Vendetta to Black Swan to No Strings Attached to Thor, Natalie Portman cannot be typecast. She's not afraid to shave her head, and she's a Harvard University grad. I don't know about you, but I like beautiful women who are intelligent and fearless too.

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis stands atop many a man's "most sexy" list. But thanks to her comedic talent, she has a disarming quality about her. Just like Jennifer Lawrence, she gives off a "cool girl" vibe. (Witness her recent Jim Beam commercial below.) Men want to be with her. Women want to be her best friend. Her role as the ditzy Jackie Burkhart on That 70s Show put her on everyone's radar. Since making her transition from TV to film, Mila Kunis refuses to be typecast as the dumb girl or the femme fatale. From Black Swan to Ted to the upcoming Wachowski film Jupiter Ascending, she continues to showcase her talent in all genres of film.

Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana is less girl-next-door and more bad-ass-chick. Interestingly enough, so many of her roles require her to don make-up or prosthetics. Perhaps this is what adds to her bad-assness. Whether she's Neytiri in Avatar, Uhura in Star Trek, or Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, Zoe Saldana has mastered the art of disguise and the art of likeability.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson, best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, has gone from a cute, bubbly kid to a beautiful, poised young adult in front of the world's eyes. Not all child actors and actresses can say the same. The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, and Noah have only just begun to showcase her talent. Acting aside, Emma Watson was named a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014 and delivered a powerful speech about gender equality. Her passion and her eloquence is impossible to ignore and impossible to detest.

Felicity Jones

Perhaps the least famous on this list, Felicity Jones (like Emma Watson) comes to us from England. She appeared in the indie drama and Sundance darling Like Crazy and has definitely made a name for herself in independent film. She is likely to appear on more people's radar after the release of her upcoming film The Theory of Everything, a biopic of theoretical physisist Stephen Hawking, based on the memoir of his first wife Jane (portrayed by Felicity Jones). Something about Felicity Jones is simply captivating. Perhaps its her sweet British accent or her wide eyes, but Felicity Jones is a Hollywood star in the making.
