Alex Band's latest Album, "We've All Been There!"

“It could easily be the #1 Most Over-looked Album of 2010!”

By: Gino De Lucia

On June 29, 2010, Alex Band, the multi-talented former lead singer/songwriter of "The Calling” returned to the music scene as a solo artist with an outstanding 14-song CD that blows its listeners away! Unfortunately though, for the most part; here in the USA, both FM Radio and the music-related trade magazines have un-justly over-looked this awesome artist’s effort to make a comeback, and in my opinion, that's sad!  Had this great album simply been given its just due, i.e. appropriate exposure and airplay; it could have, and should have easily been one 2010’s best releases because from the first note right on through the very last, every song on Band's 'We've All Been There' totally mesmerizes you~ it's that good!

How & why this endeavor by Band wasn’t and isn’t in the limelight is totally beyond comprehension too, because Band, who is now 29, has a proven track record for excelling as a recording artist! In fact, at the end of 2009; Billboard Magazine gave him recognition for having both the #1 and the #5 "Songs of the Decade" on their Adult Pop Chart for "Wherever You Will Go" (The Calling~ 2001,) and for "Why Don't You & I" (Alex Band with Carlos Santana~ 2004.)

Still immediately recognizable, Alex's great strong voice sounds better than ever! After just one listen of the CD in its entirety, it becomes obvious that this release is a unique musical work of art~ a musical experience which in itself, is immensely enjoyable.

Songs from the album such as "Tonight," "Without You," "Will Not Back Down," "Only One," "Please," "Euphoria," and "Never Let You Go," practically have the phrase "Chart-topper" written all over them.
As usual, Band's latest songs are memorable & have easily relatable themes. Known for his straight from the heart-soul-searching lyrics, Band is undoubtedly wearing his heart and soul on his sleeve through his latest songs, as most of their lyrics practically turn his private life into an open book!
"Leave," "Without You," and "Forever Yours," give an inside look at his love life, while "Please," "Love," "Never Let You Go," and "What Is Love," certainly seem to explore other loves in his life, as well as his personal relationship with God. The CD's title song, "We've All Been There," and two others~ "Holding On," and "Start Over Again," obviously re-affirms Band's faith of being able to overcome the mountain of obstacles that the legalities of the recording industry has thrown at him during the past 5 years.

However, regardless of all that he has been through; many times over, Band has stated that he has no regrets about the past, and his attitude about it, and his outlook towards his future can easily be paraphrased & summed up by saying this: "During the course of our lives, every one of us goes through trials & tribulations of one sort or another. However~ somehow someway~ we manage to weather the storms that we encounter along the way, and then, when all is said and done; the end results of it all are that we actually become stronger because of those trials & tribulations."

Indeed, the above paraphrase of Alex Band's attitude sums it up quite well, for at one time or another~ "We've All Been There!

Exactly my opinion and my feelings! This album is the best I`ve ever listened to and I love every song from the bottom of my heart...music, lyrics and his unique voice. Finally an album which lets me feel so many positive emotions again I almost forgot and which deserves all success in the whole world! As much as Alex Band deserves all respect for fighting for his own music style! I will be grateful for the rest of my live!!!
