Analysis of the Song Teacher Teacher
Lyrically, the song is literally about a student that is interested in romance with their teacher which is one of the biggest transgressions that any teacher could commit if they have a relationship with their student in the K through 12 years. Romance or the attempt at romance can get secretive, tricky and or complicated at certain times. The girl or person that recalls her encounters with her teacher remembers that while she is in school, she does not think about her feelings towards her teacher. When she sees him in the city that really startles her. She wants to go and talk with him. She says that she is okay if anyone ever starts to find out about the romance or starts gossiping about the relationship. She thinks that her teacher is cute even though he is younger than her papa. When the teacher puts himself at a distance away from her, she wonders why he is so cold and distant. She is inviting him to go out with her as she says that holding hands is up to him. The song is about how a student at a school is trying to do whatever she can to seduce a teacher as she is seeking romance with a man who is younger than her father. She thanks him for having learned so much from him and she says that she will be the one to teach him about love. At one point, the romance gets so serious that the girl says that they should be careful. She tells him that he should go home. Yet as the song goes on, she is still eager to have a relationship with him. A situation like the one that is described will go down the road of eventually ending due to more than just a failed romance.
Teacher Teacher is one of those songs that slowly builds up into a high energy kind of pop song and it is one that I find more enjoyable overall listening to than Tsubasa Wa Iranai, the group’s 44th single although that one is very good as well.
